Well opposite for me. I would like to tone my calf muscles because it gives me a bad illusion to my physique. it's huge compared to my biceps. I have got 11 inch arms with 16 or 17 inch(I believe it grew)calf muscles. suggest me anything that would tone my calf muscles down. I believe most of my fats get stored to lower portion of my body but calf makes it even more worse. Do you think heavy lifting would fatigue my legs considering calf muscles and in proportion to that training my biceps which can double up the gains due to testosterone concept what do you recommend? .

Hi JeffI really am sooo thankful to you for your invaluable advice. because of which i have been able to overcome the worst of my inferiority complex and weak point. I. e. my calves. I always used to think that i am genetically cursed with skinny lower legs. But that single principle of youre (1 Mississippi. 2 Mississippi. 3 Mississippi) has totally turned the tables now. I have been getting compliments for my calves. I am soo grateful to have come across your video that day. God bless you manLove from India. Please do visit sometime and accept my hospitality, bro Veer

deceptive advice. to the novice it seems like he is giving good advice, but like all the other advisors on here, you will work hard for little to no gain and aesthetically his advice wont build good looking muscle and or tone. he uses different work out methods, which cause quick gain. . but he is paying for it karmically. he thinks he looks great but he doesnt and will never, because he has a type of dwarfism and is getting wider, which makes him look even stranger. and his voice also alerts you to the dwarfism.

I tend to use single legged standing to cut down on the enormous amounts of weight needed to hold either on shoulders or in dumb bells. A single leg standing with toes on a gym plate on the floor and a dumb bell in each hand works quite well, although my forearms do fatigue after a while holding the dumb bells for extended periods of time. I find a bit of incline treadmill work (with exaggerated foot motion) is good for a warm-up.

Purely anecdotal experience. But I believe these short muscles capable of lifting heavy loads like the calves and traps respond best to very high volume. I had a friend who walked with a big calf raise on every step and he still has the biggest calves I've ever seen, alongside my own experience of carrying a heavy holdall bag in my left arm for a year of college, causing my left trap to double in size compared to my right.

As the Herald of The Calves Gods, I thank you for this video. Hopefully, more people will endeavour to change the bodyparts' current status of 'abandoned idiot cousin' for almost everyone who's engaged in the improvement of their physique. (I am obliged to point out the importance of the tiabalis anterior muscle, that can be wonderfully activated using a D. A. R. D. device)

Jeff When I do straight leg calve raises my feet tend to burn instead of my calves? Is this normal? When I do seated calve raises, I can really feel the squeeze in my calve. But will just working the soleus make my calves bigger? Great video buddy. Also, when doing seated calve raises, when contracting right at the top, does this also work the gastroc as well as the soleus?

Wow. This exposed a few mistakes in my technique. I already have huge calves but they are important in basketball. I was doing them on the standing calf raise machine with 400 pounds for 8 reps but I didn't pause long and I didn't have the full ROM. Definitely going down with weight significantly and focusing on technique now that I know I was doing them wrong.

If youre a fellow planet fitness civilian like me, I go to the seated calf push machine and start off with one leg at a time at a good weight to 20 reps. Then I combine the weight and use both calves till 20 or failure before 20. My calves have grown a bit and Ive been doing these exercises after every regular workout
