How to PROPERLY Warm Up Before Weights

In this video Im going to be covering a upper body and lower body warm up for weights based on what scientific literature has shown to be most effective. Ill go through the 3 essential parts of a warm up for workouts, and discuss what you should and shouldnt be doing. The main goal of warm up exercises before a workout is to warm up the muscles to be worked, which helps increase blood flow to the working muscles and can lead to improved strength and performance during your workout. So you want to focus your warm up exercises on the musculature youll be training. A few key muscles that people tend to forget to warm up are the rotator cuffs, which is why Ive included them in my upper body warm up routine. Keep in mind that there are so many different warm up exercises and warm up stretches you can do before your workout. Although Ive provided a sample upper body warm up and lower body warm up, feel free to swap in exercises that works better for you. Also keep in mind that your warm up will vary for your sport or type of training. This warm up is ideal for general weightlifters, but would likely differ for elite powerlifters and other groups. If you guys enjoyed the video then dont forget to give it a like, leave a comment, share it with your friends and subscribe to my channel. I really appreciate the support youve all shown me, it helps motivate me to continue doing this and putting out quality videos

What if someone is following your Full Body workout Routines, since it has both upper and lower body what should be the order of Warm up routines then? I really like your video, and the links of research papers gives me alot of confidence in following your routine as opposed to millions of others on the YouTube. Thank you for doing this.

since I do fullbody workouts. I can do both upper body and lower body warmup at the same time. I just grab a resistance band and do whatever he does for upper body while cycling at the same time. 9000 IQ plays

Well, first you said 2 warm up sets on the weight acclamation. Then you showed 4 sets and mislabeled the 4th set 5. I do realize the need to put a better warm up routine into my program and this info is helpful.

It might sound dumb but if you want to do a full bodied warm up, can you mix in some upper body warm ups shown here and some lower body warms. Or do i do something else full bodied like jumping jacks?

Being over 50 i have found these warm ups really help. Ive had the best 3 workouts after doing this warm up first. This is full time part of my routine now. Thanks

does this apply for beginners too? Cause i aint doing all that simply because i know im only doing one working set after that warm up
reply

On a upper lower split is it also necessary to do only the first excersise? Cause ofc you train also shoulders and back. etc.

What if youre doing a pull workout that involves deadlifts? Would you do the upper or lower body portion of this warm up?
