The outside of the attraction is more colorful but far less distinctive with its lower peak. However, compared to Splash Mountain, the attraction's interior, story and music are ho-hum. Also, there is way too much empty space and an overuse of video screens.
There was NOTHING wrong with Splash. Disney Parks should've plussed it, not torn it out and scrapped it.
I actually find Tiana's Bayou Adventure offensive with its reference to salt mines. There were no such references in Splash, an attraction populated solely by animal characters.
The Disney Corporation is adhering to its policy of offering less for more.

I've done both versions of both rides numerous times (Splash 100 times and Tiana's almost a dozen times, and can confirm Splash is better. The room with the frogs is lacking and the pre-drop is bad. Splash was designed for rerides, and Tiana's was designed to be a one and done. Splash is a solid 9. 5/10 attraction, Tiana's is about 6. 5/10. There's more thematic and story tension across at Winnie the Pooh, which is BAFFLING.

Honestly I think this tops Splash Mountain. Is it perfect No. Are there setbacks Yes, but imo there are more improvements than setbacks. SM had great animatronics but TBA has great animatronics and as a whole every scene just feels more alive. The sets and screens make everything more vibrant. I’m not sure if it tops Disney World or Tokyo’s Splash Mountain, but without doubt it tops CA’s Splash Mountain.

It's pretty and the animatronics are great. But the story kills this whole ride, the story is stale and bland. There's no beginning middle or end its all on side quest in a video game. The dialog as well is so stale tiana and Louis say the same crap everytime we see them. Really takes you out of the experience, this ride should've just retold the movie

i’ve now rode this version twice at disneyland and i can say it feels much more empty than splash did. there’s less animatronics and more screens. might i add the music is no where near as memorable, though it is fun. there is also no real climactic point because there is no villain or dark elements. not a bad ride, but will never match splash

It still feels like they rushed it, some spots still have a sort of emptiness to it. The music is so catchy though, and I do love Tiana's dress at the end. I have a soft spot for Charlotte so I wish her animatronic was given the same love as Tiana's, with the expressiveness of her face and movements. The outside parts are better than what's inside imo

The animatronics and festival scene at the end is very nice but I feel like it would be better if it retold atleast some of the movie itself the plot of the ride isn't very memorable and is hard to track. I feel that they could have incorporated Dr facilier and some of the actual nighttime swamp areas, rather than it being underground or something.

I have to admit, i wasnt thrilled at the idea of them replacing splash, and i will forever miss it, but this is actually pretty good. If the same problems that the Disney world one has continues over to California, then ill have a problem. But minus the storyline, lack of a villain and anticipation, emptyness, and the music, this is a pretty good ride.

I love The Princess and the Frog, but Splash Mountain was my happy place. This ride would be so much more interesting if they'd followed the story of the movie--can't you just see the Friends from the Other Side sending you down the big drop
Sigh. Coulda been.

Bit of a clickbait title, My biggest issue with the ride conversion is taking the peril out of the drop. There's this growing trend of making the rides post movie going to a party. They could at least make the water look green in the tunnel.

This version may suit the area better, being right next to New Orleans Square, and it may have better pacing, but no matter what, it will never ever be Splash Mountain. Long live the Briar Patch!

As someone who didn't grow up with the nostalgia of splash mountain, I feel I can say that Tiana's feels like a really good update, and I feel it will be impactful to a new generation of riders.

This ride is not better and will never be better than splash mountain. This was the most unnecessary renovation ever. They should have just designed and built a ride for Tiana

It kinda feels like the Disneyland version was designed first, and the resources were just spread out in Disney World. This version has far better pacing imo.

This is TRASH. Just more Woke Commie Indoctrination by our good friends at Walt Disney Productions and if Walt was alive today they would be out of a job

The lack of characters until 3: 25 was a little disappointing but after that the ride looks fun! Ill always be a Splash Mountain fan at heart though; P

Coincidentally, this ride opens to the public tomorrow and I had a dream last night of riding it. And when I got off, I said how terrible it was.

Couldn’t care less about whether this or WDWs is better, both of them are downgrades. They should have left one Splash alone at the very least.
