Trackless Ratatouille Ride-through at Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris Resort. If you haven't heard it yet, this exact ride is also coming to Epcot in 2021 at Walt Disney World Florida. Ratatouille Ride also goes by the name L'Aventure Totalement Toque de Rmy.

I did not feel 'small' at all in this attraction (there is nothing initiating us into the changing of sizes, that's just PR marketing talk. There is ZERO blend between on screen and surroundings, it's merely driving a bit from sceen to screen, standing there to see 10 seconds of a movie, then drive on a bit again. what a lazy and unconvincing concept. And more: it's a blunt mishap on the account of human physiology. With 3D glasses, you can see sharp 3D but the real sets are DIZZY. Without the glasses, the real sets are sharp but the film is DIZZY. It is a physiogical impossibility (basic biology of the eye) to see both sharp at the same time. That's why Disney had already decided to abandon the 3D for the Epcot version. Such a blunt mishap is not tollerable on the 'home market'.

I think that a growing problem with these rides is their detachment from being rides. Just because something moves and shakes a little in front of a screen doesn't make it a ride- it's simply a 4D movie. Of course, screens are perfectly fine to use when they fit into the environment, such as the freezer or even the parts underneath the table and trolley (although perhaps to a lesser extent. But personally, I think that I feel as if rides should focus on first featuring entertaining movement or simulation of movement, and then building the physical environment around the track, before then finally focusing on the screen elements. Of course and unfortunately, this will likely not happen because screens are much more optimal and cost effective nowadays.

This ride looks like the worst type of use of digital projection and a waste of trackless technology. They're basically having you watch huge chunks of the film in entirely non-immersive ways. Instead of experiencing the movement, you're just watching it happen on a large projection screen. Imagine if instead they had a projector in your car that showed the scene in front of you on a translucent window that let you see outside and navigate around THROUGH. You'd not feel like you're watching Remy but could actually be running under the shelves WITH Remy.

My own personal criticism about this ride is that with the glasses on you cant appreciate the details of the set as much. Its just my personal opinion though so please dont come at me, because it really is a beautifully made attraction. My advise would be to ride the first time with the glasses on and watching the screens and another time where you allow yourself to take them off every now and then to look around. But this could also be because I have horrendous eyesight

I'm a big fan of Ratatouille and I went to Paris with very high expectations of this ride but it was such a let down. The show building is amazing and the restaurant is great aswell. But the ride just wasn't good at all. The actual theming wasn't impressive and the screens just dont work imo. How was this ride 200 M and Symbolica (which is much better imo) around 35 M? Ratatoullie doesn't even have any Animatronics right? I hope Disney builds a better ride in Epcot

I went on this ride with my sibling and the whole time she was just subtly repeating You think cooking is a cute job, eh? Like Mommy in the kitchen? Well, Mommy never had to face the dinner rush while the orders come flooding in, and every dish is different and none are simple, and all different cooking time, but must arrive at the customers table at exactly the same time, hot and perfect Every second counts and you CANNOT be MOMMYI was shook

They're making this exact same ride at Epcot? What a shame. I've been on this ride in Paris, and it was a huge disappointment after experiencing all the screen based rides at Universal Orlando. Universal did it right, they actually made the ride cars seriously tilt and get raised up and down based on what you're seeing on screen, making their rides much more immersive.

Screw your double adsUpvote comment to show distaste for double adsDislike video as well, even though it's a quality video. Too many ads in 2019BTW, if you want to see some REALLY detailed rides, check out the Efteling Park in Holland. They easily out Disney Disney. Disneys gotta stop going the Universal Studios route with the screens. Animatronic RULE

I wonder if this trackless ride is better than the trackless ride Symbolica at the Efteling in the Netherlands. I have only be on the one at the Efteling and that ride has more animatics. Have somebody have on both rides, which is the better one of the two?
