Hiking Mt. Whitney the Tallest Mountain in United States (exclude Alaska) 14, 508 feet elevation. Here's a video showing some of the things you will see when hiking Mount Whitney. Permit is required to hike Mt. Whitney. We hiked Mt. Whitney on July 27, 2020. It took us almost 19 hours to complete this strenuous 22 miles round-trip hike. We started at 4: 20 a. m. and finished the hike at 11: 45 p. m. It was 40 at the Summit. We were supposed to finish the hike in 14 hrs, but all 3 of us got altitude sickness so it took longer to hike it. We spent about an hour and a half on top of the summit. Casino: What a beautiful adventure! I need to get back in shape so I can do stuff like this again! Change the title from USA to Lower 48 to satisfy all the nits.
