I'm finding it really upsetting that people don't look into the reason why Disney did not make a Spider-Man themed dark ride. They legally cannot do so.
After Disney acquired Marvel, among the things Disney did was to sit down with Universal as Universal, at that time, owned all Marvel theme park rights. Disney wanted Marvel at their parks and needed to renegotiate the contract with Universal. Two of the new stipulations were simple. No Marvel IP from before the acquisition at any East Coast Disney park (The Guardians of the Galaxy we know today are technically a new IP, hence why it's getting a ride at EPCOT, and Disney was not allowed to create a Spider-Man themed dark ride anywhere in the US.
Universal is proud of their award winning Spider-Man dark ride, so much so as they ensured that no other Spider-Man dark ride could legally be created.
To sum it up, Universal owns all Theme Park rights to 90s era and before Marvel properties and the rights to Spider-Man Dark rides.

I gotta admit, I dislike this for two big reasons:
1. I actually don t WANT all the rides to be interactive like video games. I want to be able to sit back and enjoy the immersive experience and the visuals of the environment, not constantly feel like I m being forced to participate so much that I can barely focus on everything around me.
2. There are few things more underwhelming than a ride that s literally just a moving car that takes you from one 3D screen to another, and makes barely any effort to integrate them into the real setting. I think back to the 3D Spider-Man ride at Universal Studios - and how much care and artistry they put into merging the screens with the ride s movement - and this just seems even sadder and less impressive.

I like what the ride is like and understand the direction it's going. But I think they should make the gaming scenes a little loner to about 1-2 minutes. It felt like each section was about 30 seconds. And they should also add more scenes to the screens. My feeling is this is a test result to see how far WEB SLINGERS would go. If they add villains like the Sinister Six like Doc Ock, Vulture, Mysterio, etc, and other WEB Warriors like Miles Morales (Kid-Arachnid, Gwen Stacy (Ghost-Spider, Anya Corazon (Spider-Girl, etc, then it would be a different story and a longer attraction. Do you feel me? (Venom pun) Plus it would be cool if they travel through the Spider-Verse in the future. But that's me. What do you guys think?

It s an ok ride but it was basically set up to fail by Disney.
First, there s a ride in the same park (Toy Story Mania) that is pretty much the same thing as this, where your car pulls up to screens, stops, you shoot, and then move on.
2. This ride can t be the anchor attraction for a new land let alone the first Marvel land by Disney. Disney shouldn t have saved the Avenger s E-Ticket coming in phase 2.
3. who wants to shoot webs at robots, when Spider-Man has some of the coolest villains out there. It just seems lazy and boring.
4. IOA s Spider-Man is one of the best dark rides in the world, and this will always be compared to it (and lose to it) because they re both themed to Spider-Man

This shouldn't be a ride! . This should be one of those 2 person booth video games they have at LOCAL ARCADES! Seriously mis-marketed. 4(5) different screen shootouts. You want us to feel like we are slinging webs? Make a real Coaster that feels like web slinging around the park, with targets we get points for hitting (using a hand held device that activates like a web shooter, that is attached to the ride, and is also a holding on point)

This ride is getting the same heat that Smugglers Run caught when Galaxy's Edge first opened. It was never meant to be more than a fun compliment to Mission Breakout and the upcoming Quinjet E-Ticket. But since the latter is pulling a Rise of the Resistance and opening much later, Web Slingers gets stuck with too much hype as the sole new attraction. The virtual queue only makes expectations even worse.

I hate to be like this, but this was squandered opportunity. If it was more like the Universal Spider-Man in how much movement there is, it would be better. If it had more physical sets, it would be better. It tried to be a lot but ended up feeling lazy. I know not every ride has to be Rise of the Resistance, but this is already more dated than the 20 year old Universal ride.

I really don't how I feel about this. Despite it being another video game format, it's lame how they did this ride in that it's a reskinned version of Toy Story Mania. In one sense, pretty well developed the scenes, but I don't want to keep spamming my fists on a screen with no feedback. If I wanted to play like that, I'd go to an arcade.

I guess it s ok.
It s like a fun plot for a little short or something; I just don t think it s engaging enough to base a dark ride off of. Plus, it just wasn t as witty and fun as it could ve been.
Not having more people appear was an absolute mistake. Dealing with the spiders over and over seems monotonous

The ride honestly seems very underwhelming. Seems kinda cheap and you can tell they really want you to spend that extra 70 for the web shooter for cooler animations, more score, etc. Amazing Adventures of Spiderman at Islands of Adventure is a way better Spiderman ride. and that opened 22 years ago lol
