I was regularly told by my Czech friends that people over there do not tip at restaurants, as the waiters often see it as an insult, as if you feel bad for them and want to gift them some money because they need it and you can do it because you're rich. Truth is, the waiters and servers are paid fair wages and not paid a lower rate with the assumption that they will make it up through tips (thanks for that, USA. Also, I traveled throughout the Czech Republic and Slovakia for more than two years, and never once did I come across a toilet where I was advised not to flush the toilet paper. Keep in mind, though, that public restrooms may charge a fee for you to use them (usually cheap, like 15 KC) and toilet paper is usually an extra cost (5 KC. The best way to avoid this is to plan your bathroom stops during your visits to large shopping malls, restaurants, or hotels.

Cans for toilet paper? You must be confusing something. I've never seen such a thing here in my whole life. There are trash bins for stuff that is not supposed to be thrown into the toilet, obviously. Also tipping is not really 10 percent, but 10 to 15, but most importantly we round up. So waitress says 355, - and you simply reply four hundred (and you may pay with i. e. 500 note. Or say nothing and get her/him to return you to the exact amount, but you'd usually acompany that with some complaint, so that they know why they got no tip.

Very nice video. Just an update: bins in toilets are ment for women hygiene, you can flush that paper without troubles. Shopping can be also done in shopping malls and markets, they are open daily smth like 7-21 and they are without tourist prices they are built for normal people with normal incomes: -) you can find them for exaple near metro stations (in Prague) or main streets and places of interest (in anywhere else) Thanks!

The cryptocurrency has charted a 10-fold rally in the past 11 months, offering a significantly higher return than gold amid the massive inflation-boosting monetary and fiscal stimulus delivered by authorities worldwide to counter the coronavirus-induced economic slowdown. I STARTED INVESTING WITH LOUIZ SOME WEEKS AGO AND I JUST RECEIVED A MASSIVE PROFIT DUE TO THE RECENT HIKE OF BITCOIN.

I live in Czech republic all my life (in City and also really tiny villages) and I have never ever ever seen any bin for toilet paper. Really, it's for female hygienic pads, not for toilet paper! So please, please, for sake of the cleaning ladies, don't throw your toilet paper in there! :D
reply

Sorry to put it so bluntly but the trash cans are in the restrooms for the used pads and tampons, cuz those are not supposed to go down the toilet. And most of the times there's a sign hanging on the door warning ladies about that. It is not meant for the toilet paper.

You probably somehow managed to find the only place in the entire Czech Republic where it's required to throw the used paper in the bin, because we absolutely DO NOT DO THAT HERE. The used paper goes right in the toilet as it does in the USA.

I have to agree with others, I've never seen a toilet with a toilet paper bin in the Czech republic, no matter if in city or village. If you saw it in a hotel or something, it was a really, really bad hotel.

DO NOT throw the toilet paper into the little trash can! that's for tampons and pads and stuff from your pockets and such! not for poopy toilet paper! ALWAYS flush the toilet paper!
