Japan - The Land of The Rising Sun, Well there are plenty of amazing things to do when you are in Japan, enjoying Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and so many more great cities as well as temples, shrines and bamboo forests. But there are things that you DON'T do or shouldn't do when you go to Japan and this video focuses on the things that tourists, travelers and vacationers just should NOT do when they go to Japan. From ways you might offend the locals, to how to use your chopsticks the right way to how to deal with insane huge crowds of people in the subway. The DON'Ts of Visiting Japan

Germany and Japan are the same war criminal countries, but the paths they chose were very different. Unlike Japan, which distorts and turns away, Germany has chosen the path of acknowledging and reflecting on its past mistakes.
There are places all over Germany to record and commemorate the victims. A day of remembrance of the victims was also designated. So far, the government has compensated the victims about 106 trillion won, directly or indirectly. However, there are still many people who think it is not enough.
Japan, the same war criminal country, took a different path.
Recently, they have been moving beyond denying responsibility and trying to distort history altogether. While avoiding apologies and reparations from the past, it appears that they are isolated from the whole of Asia.
'What actually happened can be repeated at any time. '
This is why Germany constantly records and reflects. This is why Japan should see and learn from Germany.

One suggestion for a future video is Top Things to Never Bring to Another Country. Many foreigners have been arrested for being in possession of something that was legal in their home country, but illegal in their destination. For example, it is illegal to bring a drone into Egypt, even a small one just to record your adventures. More personal (and related to this video) to us is that the husband of a family friend was actually arrested in Japan for possession of THC infused coffee beans. Long story short, he was in Japanese jail for 5 weeks before being given a suspended sentence on the grounds that he leave Japan immediately. Even possession of a USA legal prescription medication such as Adderall can get someone arrested in another country for importing an illegal narcotic. I enjoy traveling, and I thoroughly familiarize myself with the local laws of other countries. Love your videos, keep up the good work.

Japan is a totally AWESOME place to visit! My husband, Mark, has been 35 times now, and we thought this video was very good. There is one thing you forgot, and thats dont forget to carry toilet paper and a hand towel with you. Many public parks and temples wont have either, so its especially important for women. Also, as far as people speaking English, we have never found a lack of English speakers in any of the big cities like Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto. My tip is, look for the young people when you need help. They all take English in school now, so while many of the older people dont speak it, the younger folks will, and they are more than willing to help you out.

I'm from Germany and lived in Japan for a while (I was living in Okayama. I visited Tokyo once and was like take me out of here! Way too big and loud. Honestly, there are so many beautiful places in Japan, for example Nara or Miyajima. And interesting sides too like Hiroshima. And those places should be able to navigate without Japanese, too. If you want to travel more freely (like hiking through the mountains and stay in some small villages in the middle of nowhere, Japanese is mandatory

JR PASS - It's not true and it wasn't really true for few years now. I was in Japan four times now - and it was NO PROBLEM at all to buy JR PASS on the train stations - there was even special desk for English speaking people - the only thing was - it was a bit more expensive - like 20-30 USD more.

My roommates and I are going to Japan in a few months once the restrictions are lifted. I can't wait to go overseas for the first time in my life and also can't wait to visit the origin of so many animes and to explore the country! It's going to be amazing!

I have no planes to travel, I don't feel the urge to leave the US, there is plenty to see right here. BUT I love these videos, there are glimpse of the world around me. Although I have no desire to see it in person I love seeing it on my screen!

Yes, its difficult not to offend, but after a while, it is expected that you know better and conform. Japanese people are all about conformity, unless youre an entertainer. Then you can act like a total nut, but only on camera or for the press.

A Japanese shrine is not a temple. It is a space where virtual gods, ancestors, and war criminals are gathered. Please know the history and travel. You didn't go to the temple, you went to commemorate the war criminals of World War II.

I recommend Sapporo to go to as an alternative to Tokyo. Great area and such a big city but doesnt feel as trapped as Tokyo also more nature is there. Also the train stations are really complex. Not much if anything is in English.
