Today we interviewed Miguel, a local guide in Ecuador. Miguel talks about what he thinks you should know about visiting Ecuador, from safety issues with the head and altitude, to the food, to sights and locations that tourists to Ecuador would enjoy. Miguel is one of the best guides we have ever had in our travels and hopefully he can give you a taste of Ecuador from a local's perspective

What a great guy! Personable and loves his country! Questions to locals that I would be interested in are: What type of active pursuits would you recommend to vistitors to your country? Is it possible to do a road trip, is it safe to travel alone, or with a partner or with a small group on a DIY nature oriented trip? Other than visiting cities, what remote areas that are beautiful do you recommend? How long would you recommend to stay for a first time visitor and when to travel according to the weather/ tourist load. What do you love most about your country that you would like to share with others? So basically, I would be asking for advice for active travelers who like biking, kayaking, scuba, skiing, hiking and visiting off the beaten path places if that makes sense. etc. I hope this helps: )

Hey Mark (or anyone else,
My sister and I are planning a citytrip next month (yes, we still have to book everything. We're thinking of Budapest, Sofia or Belgrade. Our government advises some vaccinations for Bulgaria and Serbia. We're only going to be there for a couple of days and probably staying within city limits the whole time. We're from western Europe ourselves.
How do you feel about this? Are these vaccinations really important? Because that would probably persuade us to go to Budapest.

Hi, Mark! I loved the video! It was very interesting. Mark, your videos are way better than Rick Steve's travel shows. Also, you have a beautiful family! It's great that the boys are having such much exposure to different cultures. It helps them to appreciate life alot more. Life is so precious and beautiful! Looking forward to watching more of your videos! Diana Batista

Yes, this would be a nice series indeed. Even though they were not set up expressly as Interview With a Local videos, your conversations with _Dutchified_ were similar and all were excellent. And who will soon forget your impromptu interview with the local in New Orleans? Dude was awesome.

This is the first Interview with a Local video we have. What are some questions you would like us to ask locals if we keep doing these types of interview with locals videos? Thank you! And thank you to Miguel who was great!

Fantastic video clip! Hereabouts at Y&S FOOD! we adore to check out this sort of contents. We make Travel & Food movies as well, around the world, so we are often looking to get inspirations as well as approaches. Thank You.

Mark, do you have a 10 things to do or see in Quito type of video? We are thinking of staying there for a couple of days before a Galapagos cruise in a couple years, but no thanks on rotisserie guinea pigs.
