Is Japan Safe to Visit? Yes, it is very safe to visit Japan, However it is important to take a few safety precautions while you are in Japan Fuzzy: Japan is safe because there are police everywhere but they use different system than what we have in US. They don't parade around, armed to their teeth. They just stand on the corner watching people, not bothering anybody. They are everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE, and they know their neighborhood and people who live there, by name. With this kind of watchful eyes petty crime and pick-pocketing just doesn't happen (yes, I'm looking at you Barcelona)
Plus, Japan is a country where people take pride in their work whether someone is an engineer building skyscrapers or a pen maker. Every business is proud and appreciative to have a buying customer. They will do anything to make your experience a pleasant one and they will never, ever try to cheat you or rip you off. Yes, life is expensive in Japan but it's also high quality. Petty crime or tourist scams are unheard of because it doesn't pay in the long run.

As far as the not speaking Japanese thing I traveled there in 2016 and was unable to speak Japanese. I had learned some essential words and phrases but one thing I could not have done without was POCKET WIFI! You can order it online and have it available when you arrive at the airport or have it delivered to your hotel. It is quite cheap and allows you to use things like google, google maps, and google translate. Google maps was a life saver while I was there. Hope this tip helps everyone! Thanks again for the great videos!

One of the weirdest things I saw in Tokyo was a mother leaving a sleeping 3 or 4 year old outside a store at around 7 pm while she shopped. Also my cousins from Mexico City while visiting Osaka forget their mariachi instrument came back a couple hours later and found it exactly were they had forgotten it

I'm gonna visit this country when I'm old enough to travel by myself. The ancient architecture just amazes me! I've also seen some nice parks, and the cherry trees look so amazing. Altho I'm definetly not gonna try their food. Rice ball definetly, sushy probably not. Raw fish. No thanks.

my american friends tell me that Japan changes or hides statistics to hide their real crime issues. Or that the real crime rate of japan is under reported or not reported to match the reality. They say its not as safe as people believe

I don't understand how this video can supposedly address safety in Japan without mentioning the 300 lb gorilla in the room. or more accurately the annual attacks from a 12-story-high indestructible radiation breathing dinosaur.

100% agree! Just be careful with traffic (they riding on a left side of the road, and allowed to turn left on red signal) and drunk people(night trains of Friday for example) just because they can fall on you or puke on you: D

Actually the thing you got to fear in Japan is get run over by bicyclist in the pedestrian side-walk. A lot of them ride very fast and silent especially at night, they're on to you before you realize it.

I'm Japanese. I visited many countries and definitely here is the safest. I lost my wallet many times (maybe 3 times, but I returned all time with my cash. Is it unbelievable? But Japan is such a country!
