we head to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex for the Taste of Space media event. We had some delicious foods and saw some super rare art! There were pieces from Andy Warhol, Annie Leibovitz and more! It was really neat to see. Then we head over to tour the rest of the complex, we saw the space shuttle, the lunar rover, Saturn V rocket and so much more! This was a great trip and we definitely recommend making it part of your vacation if you're planning one. There is so much Florida history to see here but also just American history

My grandfather worked for NASA in the 60's and 70's. He worked on the design team to build the air stream that they used to quarantine the astronauts after they came back from space. When I was a teenager my family went to the Space Center a few years after my grandfather had passed away. We were in one building and were looking at lots of huge photographs of the different Apollo missions. We turned the corner and there was this huge photograph and right in the middle was my grandfather! It was amazing. My mother, her brother and sister, and my grandmother were all there. It was so wonderful to see that. We were there to remember him and there he was.
Another favorite memory was having my grandfather take us down to the launch pads and getting to climb on the steps of the rocket transport vehicles. My mother still has a picture of me when I was about 6 (I won't tell you how old I am now) standing on the steps. Those were huge!
Thanks for showing us the Space Center. It always brings me wonderful memories of my grandparents.

I hope y'all get to come to Houston some time and check out Space Center Houston. I think you'd get a huge kick out of what we have over here, too. The tram tour to the newly restored Apollo mission control is a must see as is the tour of the astronaut training facilities and all the other super interesting exhibits. My son was a tram tour driver there this past summer when all the moon landing anniversary things were going on and he had many guests on his tram that week who'd worked the Apollo missions. Such amazing stories.

Disney needs to take over the vision and execution of the visitor center at Kennedy. I love space, but honestly it could be SOOOOOOOO much more interesting and engaging- especially for kids. We have been twice, and I was honestly a little bored. Which I didnt expect. Being government run is not doing them any favors. If someone like Disney took it over and the government just took a cut, they would have to be be profitable than Kennedy is currently.

We love Kennedy Space Center. We did a VIP tour when we were there years ago and there was a rocket on the pad ready to launch. We are planning to go back soon with the RV and stay near by and do the entire area.
