As an fpv pilot I personally see the mavics as the expensive option. You end up with heaps of spares, there's no massive expense at once, it's always just $40 here and there unless you wanna run the newest of everything and have other people build and repair your drone, that would get costly
Also that doesn't look like a legit fpv drone

How is the video quality on fast FPV scenes? I can see on this video there are squares etc, does it come from youtube compression or your video export settings or is it original footage?

FPV mode always bothered me on the Mavics, because it still dampens the motion. The gimbal should be LOCKED when in FPV mode. If it moves at all it makes the drone tough to control.

Way cool, thanks for posting. Just bought MavAir, saw how incredibly boring it was, and immediately started looking FPV. This will hold me off, for sure.

How about Fixed Wings mode? I used to fly with guugles in Fixed Wings mode it was like flying a plane! Do they still have that mode as well?
