Daniel Boone National Forest in 4K - Bushcraft Backpacking, Camping, and Hiking Clifty Wilderness Jeff: Great to see ya alls videos. Great content, great image quality. I live in Lexington and I commonly hike / backpack in the RRG. The Clifty Wilderness area is my favorite hiking backpacking area. Wilderness trail and Swift Creek are favorites. In the video, you came across a campsite I often stay at however, you all passed and camped at another spot. If you ever pass by again, look me up. I also have a completely restored and boss vintage Airstream Argosy that makes a great base-camp and I have several Wilderness systems and Dagger Kayaks if you all want to kayak the Red River with me as part of your next RRG outing. By the way, its pronounced Ale - 8 - 1 and it world famous to the rock climbers who come from around the world and eat pizza at Miguels. By the way, MIguels Pizza has expanded since you made this video. I am a pilot and own a plane so I could even help you all add aerial views maybe on your next visit. This is truly one of the most beautiful areas of the USA.

Just wanted to let you know that watching this video was the inspiration for me to update my backpacking kit and take my first back country trip since around 1982. In fact my friend George and I recreated your trip. We spend Mother-s Day weekend on the Wild Cat and Swift Camp trails. As the weekend forecast was also kind of iffy, we think we may have been the only one-s camping in the Cliffy Wilderness Area that weekend. Only after returning from the trip did I realize we stayed at the same creek side camp site you stayed at on your second night. We found another incredibly nice site our second night.
Your videos are so wonderful in that they invite us all the enjoy the experience not just beat out the miles or show off some collection of gear. The experience of challenge, endured with laughter of friendship, is what makes such adventures great.

After watching this, my wife and I did this hike last week. We managed to find that 2nd campsite by the creek and had it all to ourselves since we were there mid-week. A little chilly overnight, but super nice scenery the whole way! The dogs loved it too. We've camped down off the Swift Camp Creek trail before, but further up across the other side of the creek from the junction goes back up to the Angel Windows parking area. That used to be one of our favorite spots, but man - it gets pretty busy on the weekends. Still, a great spot during mid-week!

I absolutely loved - this video journey. I was captivated by all the tiny details and hung on every word, rewinding numerous times to watch something again or hear something again. I don't do that very often unless it's something that captures my heart. It was truly wonderful to see three friends who were in sync with themselves, each other, and their surroundings in nature. I look forward to seeing more of your videos journeys. To all of you from me, friendship and safe travels as you refresh and renew yourselves with life's vast treasures.

No matter how many times you guys include the time lapse of the night sky, I will never get tired of watching it.
I might have said this before, but I am a bit envious of the fungal life you gents find. Not so jealous of all the rain you seem to get caught in. Can't have the good without the bad though I suppose.

How do you guys get prepared to sleep without a tent after seeing all those bugs and creepy crawlies all over? I want to do it but every time I go camping I can't get the courage because of all the bugs. Also, I live in AZ and I feel like there are more things here that can kill me than in the East Coast.

Great episode as always. So I'm a backpacker turned backpacking/bushcrafter, thanks to your videos. Hiking the Ouachita trail across Arkansas into Oklahoma next week and bringing saw and bushcrafting knife and getting ready to build some fires and identify some plants and trees -!
