I realize that you are not rushing. But the US Army standard is 12 miles in three hours or less with roughly a 70 pound rucksack (think a back pack that is short and stout instead of elongated like a hikers pack and it's not nearly as padded or comfortable to carry) and all your kit, ammunition and rifle. So it can be up to 120 pounds. Back in my day we had to wear boots made by the lowest bidder.

I have watched this video several times (it makes me feel nostalgic for Oregon) and had notice a quick flash over the mushroom at 19: 30 but never took the time to check it out. This last time I decided to pause on and off to figure out what it said. Nice subliminal message. :)

I personally don-t think it-s worth it to take my time and be kind to people. Most hate it and they-re probably bad people anyway
I used to be the polar opposite but west coasters are mostly a pain in the ass and I eventually learned

This is one of the most amazing hiking films I have ever seen, it's like I'm there hiking with you, and the music is amazing too! Thank you so much for filming this, you have made my year, and watching it on my big screen TV just Great!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I went in late August and the Newton creek crossing was extremely dangerous as well as the White river crossing. I went with a partner, and may not have crossed Newton if I were alone.
