Solo Backpacking the Hardest Hike in Ohio Hook: It's up and down strenuous pretty much the whole way through the south loop that you are on, the north loop is even more difficult. My buddy Mike and I did this entire south loop trail in one go, no camping, back in 2020 also. The best thing about this loop is a really nice section that follows a creek for sometime that is a great area for a much needed break and views. I'd say the worst thing about this trail is that it isn't a complete loop, once you get out of the woods at the end you realize you still have another few miles to go to get back to your vehicle. The quickest way was to just walk the road back around by turkey lake where the registration kiosk is. My after hike food is sour patch kids and a tall boy of Monster, I don't know why but I need sugar bad after intense hikes. AllTrails Dakota Dunlap

Dude! , I understand that you burn - alot of. Calories hiking, but dam, I really think you might have a tape worm, which got me to thinking, you should maybe do a segment every episode maybe call it, hearty-hungry- hikers, or, - trail - dish -. or - hey, I'm starving, let's eat -, idk, just some ideas, this definitely make you stand out from all the other you tube hiking shows, don't you think, well, keep on - trail ' in. It on down the path, P. S, I use to work at Chimney Rock state park for about 2 1/2 years, oh. Yeah, the one in North Carolina, anyway, you should also visit there and do an episode, absolutely breath- taking views, several movies - were shot there, and some great stories as well, well I'm out, take care, peace!

As always this was very interesting and an enjoyable way to see a beautiful forest. I always worry about you and your colleagues having enough food on these trips. Since you commented on your own concerns in this regard, do you think you will bring some extra food on future trips, especially solo ones where you could get stuck by yourself somewhere in the forest. Also what was the story on the music. I love your film scores for the group trips, including the influence of Asian music in many of the videos. Did you create any of the music in this video?

Thank you Buddy, I started watching this last night when I came across it as an established Sub late that night. I enjoyed your filming and Host Style so well that I left it loaded on my PC to finish having watched now on the Big Screen. I must ask please, what editing program do you use? Your very skilled, I on the other hand need a simple GUI, & intuitive editor with a beginners help file. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks and as Always, Blessings from Oregon! . Mike.

Do you want to try another tough hike in Ohio? Hike the Logan trail at Tar Hollow State Park. It is also intense and has some serious climbs. It is a figure 8 trail and each loop is about 10 miles so the complete trail is around 20 miles. You can enter the trail at a few spots but the main trailhead is in the middle of the figure 8 which also has camping. There is a fire tower also there that you can check out. The Buckeye Trail comes through Tar Hollow.

Thank you for taking us on these walks. It is very valuable to share with others the beauty of our world, real emotions and your vision of what surrounds us! All this is a great work and art, it is worth a lot. Thank you for the fact that more and more people are carried away by hiking romance, making people kinder. When you are in nature, you always enjoy the little things. You live in the present moment, and all negative thoughts leave our mind!

I miss those types of trails in Massachusetts when i was younger, so easy, rolling. I prefer hikes in the white mtns. love looking up at the mountains etc. Great hike. However, the fast food crap made me laugh. Reminds me when i joined up with a inline skater skating around the usa and we stopped to eat fast food junk and the smile on his face was funny to watch. so bad for the body. but hey, its energy for the mind.

Love all your videos. Makes me feel like I'm hiking with you. If you ever get a chance to come to Pennsylvania there is a great hiking trail in central Pennsylvania called Loyalsock Trail at Loyalsock State Park. Around 56 miles of trail and a lot of off trails from the main trail to explore as well. Hope to see your next video on your next adventure. Stay safe.

Ohio is a lot more impressive during spring (wildflower season )or fall. Winter isn't as impressive because of the temperate deciduous climate (imo. We don't get a lot of snow unless you're up north. It'd be cool to see a video of Ohio in the spring! During that time of year, the ground is covered in moss and delicate looking flowers.

1. Why do you guys NEVER take easy foods like oatmeal? It's filling, good for you, and light. And way better for you than ramen!
2. Why don't you put the mileage you would do on a trail into an exercise calorie calculator and calculate how many calories you would burn and what you need to eat?
