Join me today on the Arctic Sleeper train to Lapland where i'll be trying out the best First Class, ensuite bedroom for a 13 hour trip to the furthest North i've ever ventured. This will be quite the experience travelling from Helsinki central station all the way to the Rovaniemi in the Arctic Circle. I'll not only show my ensuite bedroom but also show you what Coach is like and my thoughts on whether I could do an overnight train in a recliner! I'll explore all elements of the onboard service, from dinner in the dining car, to breakfast and what the different carriages are like (such as bikes & pets

So far up north, oh way up high
Hunters and cutters
Fish in the lakes, so small the rain
You follow your herds through the seasons
Sky so sheltered through your day
Our history's not only in the books
Far up north
Another mean
Long Lapland
You are the only land
Native hearts
Life in the wild
I have something to tell you
You're just as one as any other place

So, I was wondering. how did you continue your journey after this? Did you hop on a flight back to Helsinki, or was there any other (sensible) way to get to larger cities nearby? I'm trying to plan a roundtrip through Finland and Norway, but so far the options aren't astounding: D

I would spend the daytime in the economy car. Those seats look much more comfortable than your cabin chair. Definitely not something I would do. More like a closet than a room.

just a thought if you can use your key card on another door on another train car, who is to say someone else can do the same to others and steal their belongings

You missed one little detail that we Finns make fun about the dining car. The -push- hand symbol on the door has 6 fingers.

I loved your shoes btw. I wonder if you can provide more info about your shoes and possibly a link to the online store.
