Koh Tao, Thailand TERRIFYING NIGHT DIVING- PADI Certification at Sairee Cottage
video description
If anyone lives in Southern Cali you can take an R. O. P. class. If you are in high school it is almost free. You would have to pay for the cert itself and some of your gear, if you don't want to rent, but it is an sport diver level class (somewhere between basic and advance) that included first aid, CPR and water rescue certs. You come away very well trained.
kara, Night dives are awesome. The next time you go on one buy a chem light and activate it and the cut it open and sprinkle it on your suit so you glow. Its fun and the fish come to you.
Nate, did they go over dive tables with you guys?

I saw it in one of your video's from Japan. I saw a -Georgia- coffee vending machine. I lived in Northern Japan for 4 years in the 80s and I remember Georgia coffee being so great. Maybe because it was the first canned coffee I had ever had. Just when I saw the vending machine in the background you brought back memories. Thank you.

Makes me think of my trip to Belize back in 2008. Went scuba diving in the Great Blue Hole. The recreational limit for scuba diving is 130ft. My dive computer logged me as at 139ft and most of my group, including the guide, was below me. Luckily no reports of narcosis. One of the only dives I've done past 100ft.

Sunlight doesn't penetrate below a certain depth, 30 ft if I remember correctly, so if you are doing any sort of deep diving then all dives are night dives. And the clarity of the water will also have the same effect.

Wow I am absolutely terrified of the ocean and diving let alone all that during the night. HUGE HUGE props to Kara for facing her fear. I could never. You deserve a huge pat on the back! I wish I had your bravery

Kara, My wife and I have been diving for 20 years and over 1000 ocean dives by ourselves. We hate night dives. Never really saw anything special and the darkness creates a dangerous situation. Totally not worth it.

I'm ready for you all to come to the good ole USA and then drag me somewhere for my first night dive, although we'll have to keep it under 60' since I'm not quite so advanced.
