MUNICH TO LJUBLJANA #17 Cindy: Isn't the German countryside gorgeous! I take the bus or train everywhere I can there, Switzerland and Czech Republic because the scenery is so stunning! You really need to go back to Germany and see more of it, especially the castles and some more of the southern region. The Rhine River castles are so pretty, and some of the southern towns, like Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Bamburg actually have medieval buildings still. I know you're trying to hit 100 countries, but when you have more time, go back to Germany and Switzerland, and don't miss Prague!

Southern Germany and Austria are my favorite places in Europe. The landscapes are just amazing. I don't know if you're going back through Austria or not, but if you do, you should definitely go on a Castle tour. Everyone always goes to Neuschwanstein in Germany and you should, but also go to Hellbrunn Palace. It is near Salzburg. It is the most fun of all castles. It has tons of water surprises and was designed by a man who loves humor and hid these water tricks. It's especially great when warm out.

Hi Kara and Nate, as much as I like ur experiences on the Oktfest, ther is still to say: it is a mixture of the alcohol-loving people europe wide, and it does not represent the majority of Germans. I by myself hate places like the Oktfest, because it only shows the weared part of the people, not the real life of how it is living in Germany, but if u enjoyed it it was worth it! greets from Jena, Germany Mathias and fam

Loved Munich, but a similar thing happened to me when I visited. I ordered an item from Green People in the UK, which I couldn't get delivered to the U. S, so I had it shipped to me at my hotel, but it never arrived. Missed getting coffee and eating at Dallmayr, too, among other things. So much to see and do. I was there for a week and left with a list for next time!

Nate has really started complaining more than he used to, even when things are pretty good and Kara likes it and says positive stuff, he just comes up with some little passive aggressive comment to bring it down a notch, not nearly as bad as that jagoff from Endless Adventures but he is doing it more frequently for sure.

New follower been watching all your travels but when you went to Munich I was excited to see it again through your eyes. I lived in Weisbaden, Germany for 4 years because my dad was in the Airforce so we traveled in Europe and went to school.

So typical of German customer service or lack thereof. Have had many experiences like this before and Im not sure why it is this way. I mean they just lost at least a thousand euro sale because the guy didn't take care of you properly.

I love Ljubyana! I met up with a couple of Americans and a Japanese girl on the train. We hung out for several days - going to the castle, going to a disco, and getting very drunk. Fun times - back in 99'.
