Lol, maybe no one will see my comment, but here it goes:
Why do we go to abandoned\historic suffering places?
Because, we learn from them.
We learn, to never do that again.
That's the case of Chernobyl, of course, We have a curiosity about it, but,
it shows what happened to the places, and people, and how it was, horrific.
And we never have to do it again, because we know the consequences about it!

Those visitors are crazy you need lead linings in your shoes the radiation is mostly in the ground you walk on. and wear a dust mask as its in airborne particles. in the nevada desert they made those western movies most of them died of cancer put down to smoking but i think it was the dust full of isotopes they breathed in.

I think there-s so much to be told about actually visiting a place like this. If anything, having that experience reminds you of the impact this truly had. It-s the same as concentration camps. from my point of view as long as you look at it as an educational experience to make sure we don-t repeat the mistakes of our past

Sadly human didn-t take enough lesson from this accident-! Please research about Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant in Armenia and Metsamor did not meet internationally accepted nuclear safety standards! If any even bad earthquakes hit that nuclear power plant that will be worst than Chernobyl!

Probably been mentioned but the film on the ground wasn-t used for pictures. It-s low-budget radiation detectors. People would pin it to their clothes to keep track of how much radiation they were absorbing during the cleanup.

Watching this video again something occurred to me. Nate recently had skin cancer on this head and had a surgery to get it removed. I wonder if it's because of this trip to Chernobyl.

For all I know, that round metal piece you saw could even be from the reactor itself. Surely an explosion of such magnitude would have tossed even more than dust into the air.

is it safe? i slept in pripyat for 3 nights, and did a big hike with a guide. yes, it is more than safe, and incredibly intresting to feel the place. yet so hard to comprehend.
