SLEEPING INSIDE CHERNOBYL EXCLUSION ZONE (are we crazy) Dude: My in-laws were in St. Petersburg (Leningrad) when Chernobyl blew up. So crazy that they happened to be there. They were getting ZERO information from the commie propaganda machine, so relied on us in the states and family in Germany for factual information. Lots of talk of how great nuclear power is. until it isn't. The proof? Fukushima. Sorry, if you can't prevent a failure in the world's most tsunami-prone country DUE TO TSUNAMI, then you've proven nuclear power is beyond our ability to do safely.
-Nuclear power is great. ON THE SUN! -

Watching in 2022, but it was so interesting to hear them talking to the old man. My family is Slovak, and Ukranian, Polish, Czech, Slovak, etc. are all very similar, so I understood most of the conversation. Aside from that, my mon was a young child in South-East Slovakia when Chernobyl exploded. She talked about how the kids were given iodite pills to eat to -protect them- from radiation. So interesting to see the after effects

Kara and Nate, I fear they lied to you. Based on what I just read the reactor buried in the basement has become much more active due to water evaporation. You were very possibly exposed to way more radiation than you were lead to believe. If either of you develop any cancers, remember your exposure there.

I understand this from a historical standpoint, however this is wrong on so many levels. So many people lost their lives and for those who survived this must have been horrific. With this in mind it-s seems so disrespectful to be exploiting the disaster for financial gain

You are not crazy. You are disrespectful. Families were torn apart. People died and people were forced to move. Tragic beyond belief. Turning this into some travel tourism fantasy is disrespectful beyond words. You fuel the demand with this sad vlog. Shame on you two.

Did not enjoy this one at all! Swinging a rope? Playing the piano? Disrespectful behavior in lieu of what happened there. A tourist attraction is disgraceful and dishonoring the people who lived and died because this horrific event in history.

Interesting, but it's tragically silly and irresponsible to be in highly contaminated, radioactive places, inches from highly radioactive objects and just laugh and believe it's safe, because (as often stated in the clip) you were. told so.

I have always been fascinated with Chernobyl and I have recently just finished The game called Chernobylite which they 3d scanned many areas of Chernobyl into the game to make it authentic, so this video was a great watch for me.

Old people are affected by radiation differently. Young people have high metabolic rate, high rate of cell division, higher chance of developing issues. No point in arguing but I would never come close to this area.

A friend gave birth in a Soviet hospital in the early 80's and it is alarming to see that birthing room in the hospital. It is exactly as she described it but somehow haunting to see it.
