This comes to be ironic, from what I read about the history of these monasteries they were built in these mountains exactly with the intention of not being a place of easy access. The hermit monks were in search of safe refuge to the Ottoman occupation, they found in these inaccessible rocks of Meteora an ideal refuge. I know the Greek Government should have built these stairs to make it easier to visit the monasteries to attract more tourists. Even so, these access stairs take away all the grandeur and the place. Long ago the only way to access these monasteries was climbing these mountains, and I believe it still should be that way. These monasteries should be considered sacred sites, and if one really wanted to reach them, he should prove his determination and courage by scouting the mountains to get there. I already say that I do not have the courage to climb these mountains, because I was always afraid of heights, so I think only dignified people could come with their own strength until then. With these ladders of access this place became just a monastery like any other, how much irony.

Dear sir, I hate being repetitive but I can't help but admire the artfulness shown by you in giving us the chance to view these incredibly beautiful places. Besides that the sad soulful Greek music as background is nothing short of awesome. It is incredible what humans in the name of faith are able to build. These monasteries are old and it baffles my mind as to how they were able to construct these structures in such inhospitable places. How they manage to build them and make them accessible at the same time, it was by any measure in incredible job.

We're very interested in 'slow TV', no presenters or opinion, just an immersive tour with natural sights. Thanks for adding this really enjoyable one. I hope between us we can spread these kind of videos around a little. It's a great way to learn more about our world.

This are river deposits that remained after the flood, after the water regressed, this are made of rocks sand and mud and things that were crushed on the way. Maybe this is an answer to the question where the Greek gods disappeared.
