You can see why India is a country with a lot of potential but filled with shitty people. Almost every comment on this video by Indians is about how Hindu architecture is superior or how Muslim invaders destroyed Hinduism. There is no mention whatsoever of Hindu rajas doing the same looting and plunder nor of the fact that it was a Hindu raja who invited Babur to the subcontinent because it's not about historical accuracy, it's about seeking a sense of false pride on behalf of a monument for insecure people who've not made any difference to the world today but want to feel validated by mentioning monuments and people who built them. Then that insecurity leads to demonizing other people and cultures to feel superior about your own. The reason the world looks down upon India and all South Asian countries for that matter, is that your individual insecurities and egos are so monumental (pun definitely intended) that you can't embrace your collective history. You want a puritanical history which is not possible. You want the world to acknowledge that only YOU made contributions to knowledge which is not true at all. You want to be recognized as the ultimate victims by casting others as the ultimate villains but that's hypocritical. There are hundreds of Sufis who spread Islam in the subcontinent but their names do not appeal to the zealots as much as the typical catchphrase 'Muslim invaders' does. If you can't even agree on accepting your unified culture within your country, you can't be expected to have tolerance for those outside of your country. Before you attack me viciously and show yoir upbringing, please remember that when you claim to be peaceful while writing absolute filth about other communities then you show by your own actions that you're not that peaceful and tolerant after all. Would you like if I said Hindu murderers because of Indians who lynch people for exporting beef? You wouldn't but you still prefer dehumanizing others. The hypocrisy is chilling

Isfahan's exquisite monuments in Iran are the most underrated in the world. Sheikh Lutfullahs mosques blue-green and purple marble dome is like a Persian carpet in marble. It is far superior to the Taj which is a pale white marble copy. Similarly, the ruins of Ancient Persia at Persepolis outshine those of Ancient Greece for their sheer size and beauty of decorative carving. Then there is the complex of buildings constructed by Taimur in Samarkand which too have been ignored for centuries. All the great Timurid monuments of central Asia in Uzbekistan, Yarkand, Khotan, Tajikistan, Kazakstan and Kirgizia should be given the publicity they deserve. After all, they are part of the worlds cultural heritage. If they are not given importance and publicity some mad jehadi will dynamite them the way the Taliban destroyed the priceless Bamiyan Buddhist monoliths of Afghanistan or what ISIS did too in Syria. by dynamiting the Palmyra ruins and temples or the looting of the Iraqi National Museum in Baghdad by the American troops. The art treasures from that looting are now available in the black market. Shame on such vandals.

I love this list. Indian political pseudo-secularism has made it so that the Ajanta caves, Meenakshi Amman Temple, Somnath, Hampi, Chidambaram, like half of Kumbakonam and Odisha have been overlooked by India's own tourism department. It's pretty weird that a Persian tomb is one that has taken precedence over incredibly intricate and much older architecture that is still alive and in use today. The Chidambaram Temple is spectacularly well constructed. The architectural layout is meant to model the layout of the universe and it's far older than even the Meenakshi Amman Temple. All of these structures are at risk of falling into ruin because of government oversight. An uptick in international attention can help put some pressure to preserve them

Lol, I have seen 3 out of the 10 attractions already. I've travelled around the world since I was 7 years old, but South India is the region that has impressed me the MOST. When you see place like Kanyakumari, Meenakshi Amman, Thanjavur, Allepey + Kerala, it is hard not to have your heart turned inside out. I want to go back, again and again and again to see the country from South to North.

Tajmahal is overrated simple Architectural building. In Hindustan(South Asia) there are 1000's of more marvelous structures and buildings which are thousands of years old been plundered and destoyed by Muslims. The present day North India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh had lost 99% of their ancient knowledge, structures, temples, universities because of onslaught of invading forces.

Next time when someone says Taj Mahal is India's face. Tell them to read some history. The whole list could be filled with only Hindu Temples (even when thousands of them were destroyed. But it was the Congress's Muslim appeasement which gave Taj Mahal so importance and appealed to 7 wonders committee to include Taj Mahal

Angkor Vat, Ajanta Caves and Menakshi temple were built by Dravidians/ South Indians. It proves how great is the Dravidian civilization. Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism are all offsprings of Dravidian civilization. It is unfortunate it is not informed to the young South Indian generation. However Satyamev Jayate

You forgot Ireland's Newgrange. It's a passage tomb with a mound built on top of it that is older then the pyramids and has the bonus feature of having an entrance that perfectly aligns with the sun on the winter solstice, illuminating the interior only on this one day.
