With mountains so lofty and treetops so tall, Finland is definitely the country where I want to be After all, it's been so sadly neglected for so long by people going abroad, who often tar it with ignorant epithets, such as a poor second to Belgium. But, that discounts all of the wonderful attractions and activities that Finland has to offer, such as pony trekking, camping, or just watching T. V And I've not even mentioned the culinary delights of eating breakfast, dinner, or a snack lunch in the hall - now that's the country for me And if you're lucky, whilst there, you might just get to witness some traditional entertainment, such as the ancient folk ritual known as the Fish-Schlapping Dance performed by the marvelous Finn of Fires Folk Song & Dance Company (who have performed all over the world, including Russia, Japan, Egypt, and Vietnam) What else can I say? Finland has it allOkay, so how many people actually knew what I was referring to this whole time?

Notice none of these happiest countries are in Africa, Asia (Middle East included, South America or Antarctica (duh. These mentions in the video though I disagree with. Northern Europe has the highest suicide rate of practically anywhere, whereas Greece has the lowest in Europe despite their problems. Given this, how can it be said that Finland is the happiest country? Suicide is through the roof there and the Funeral Doom Metal music genre is the drug and catharsis of choice for people to deal with their environmental and social circumstance. Now I am a listener of this type of music and live in Greece but have personal circumstances rarely found here for this to be the case.

It seems about the same proportion of Swedish people speak English as in England Aint mass immigration by people who will never, ever integrate, assimilate or identify with their unfortunate hosts - whom they despise -wonderful? And as for the UK being given an honourable mention as a happy country it proves this survey to be rubbish. Not only do the millions (and millions and millions) of immigrants hate British people, most of our (so called) British intellectuals hate them even more

Ask again in 10 years - when far right nationalist politic parties have destroyed our socialism thinking, turned people against each other and sold everything out to large corporations. Scandinavia will have worse living conditions than the US if things dont turn around.

This list makes no sense. There is no such thing as happy countries. All these countries you mentioned, ALL of them are in the top 20 highest sucide rates. Some of them are in the top 5. People are happy. How can a country be happy?

Sweden is a Great nation. Unfortunately, it's not as safe as Denmark due to immigration, but I hope the crime rates gets as low as Denmark in the oncoming years, Maybe.

I'm surprised to see Finland as number 1 given the high unemployment rate. There is quite a bit of brain drain going on there as a result of it.
