Is This Really Europe's Best Airline? Jemand: Why would Turkish Airline be the best airline? Just because they say so? lol, every single airline could say that. The best airline for inner-european destinations really depend on your preferences. Most of them offer the same product: A320/737 without space and/or service. The main difference are the destinations, prices and the carry on luggage you're allowed to bring.
For me, Eurowings is the best all-in-all package. You have the safety of Lufthansa and its maintenance + its extremely well trained pilots, but a better economy then Lufthansa, a better website, better prices and lots of tourist destinations.

Not at all imprpressed with with Turkish and the horrendous way they handled a 5 hour delay at Bangkok Airport. It is easy to give an airline a good review if everything runs smoothly but it is how they handle things when something goes wrong and the way they handled matters is much more important The delay meant we missed our connecting flight to Edinburgh. Other people also missed connecting flights at Istanbul. On the flight to Edinburgh, a couple of passengers endured a 24
hour delay from Manilla and said they would NOT be flying with Turkish again Many other passengers said the same

wow. Flew between Birmingham and Hong Kong with different airlines, so far my favourite is with Turkish. Can enjoy a meal on the Brum leg while having a proper long sleep w/ 2 meals on the Hong Kong leg. With Emirates I can't properly sleep and the Airport was filthy; with Lufthansa service was bad, there was no meal on the Brum leg and Frankfurt is sub-par; if not for the price I wouldn't have flown with Air France next trip. Istanbul was bright and charming, connection time was perfect (3h) and everything was spotless. Love it.

We flew with Turkish Airlines in May, it was not great, no option for an upgrade but it was a charter flight, we were given a food bag that contained a dry roll, juice and a tiny water, no option to buy anything on the flight, not the best. We flew with Freebird a couple of weeks ago, never heard of them but it was much better and no different to flying with Tui or any other holiday airline we have been on but there was more leg room than the others

You nailed the word to describe this airline. CONFUSING. I flew recently and most of those pods (05: 40) are broken now. Its BS about air congestion over EU. I'm pretty sure it is ramp/ground congestion at IST. There is a fair bit of BS going on with this airline. The ground and flight staff seem to be over worked and I think there is proof in this video (02: 00. Only pluses are the food and IFE.

i have used that lounge before and thought it was really good, i have also used a lounge in Birmingham, and to be honest it was the worst lounge i have ever used, the food was totally awful and the staff was not much better, i have noticed that you complain a lot about some of the lounges that you use, just a thought maybe you would be better off not using them again.

I don't understand how they're voted Europe's best airline. I've never flown them but from what I've seen in travel videos and what I've heard from colleagues it seems very average. Can someone please explain what is so great about them? Noel, great video minus the rough landing.

Great video Noel. As a professional video blogger could you do a video on how to go about claiming for flight delays?
Had the misfortune to be travelling on a 3 hour flight yesterday which was an eye watering 4 hour 40 minutes late getting to destination. Knackered.

Re: Lounge There's nowhere to sit. Yet you are sitting, and there is an empty table behind you. Having been to the new lounge, I think you might have failed to follow the signs, just as you did at check in. If you pay attention, the process will go much more smoothly.

The runway at BHX? Not the easiest as it points the wrong way and is anything but flat, you have to know where to land to avoid a bit of a jostle.
Because of the orientation the runway can also cause problems for weight and balance and side wind restrictions.

And yes, I totally concur about the new TK lounge at IST. The one at Attaturk was WAY better. Better layout, more beautifully designed. Felt like part of Topkapi palace, whereas this one feels, well, like an airport lounge. and yes, I know - totally a first-world problem

Have you tried the domestic terminal at Sapporo (New Chitose) yet?
Everything is before security. A million restaurants/cafes, a chocolate factory and a cinema on site. It'll put that business lounge to shame with all its little areas, shops and cafes.

it 100% is, I've flown Turkish more times then I can remember, 8 times just this year and they have amazing seats, ife selection, and especially food, I will admit the crew vary lots from flight to flight though
reply

So you are privileged enough to experience great first class checking, lounge, seat and service yet it seems you are not happy with any of it. Sorry mate but what a bs to get followers.

My local airport is Birmingham and when I landed from Antalya in July onboard corendon 737-800 operated for TUI the landing was just the same with the bumpy landing and coming in fast.

when you travel in business and travel on your own are you nervous of leaving your bag on the chair and nipping to the loo or food etc or do you carry your bag around with you?
reply

They can get grumpy about filming in the TK lounge - they forced me to stop filming when I was last there. Thankfully, I had already gotten most of the footage I needed.
reply

At least on TK you get a more consistent business class product unlike those so called business class on majority of the European airlines which is just a plain joke.
reply

Aer Lingus is my favourite one because it is very frienly unfortunely very expenisve i prefer to plan on my own. oh dear its expensive but price risen sharply.
reply

I love your hard work. Will join the patreons. And thanks for confirming exactly what I thought of the new TK lounge in IST Looking forward to your next trip!
