This is very interesting. You simply escaped your flight without going past passport control or any border/immigration people. This is still airside so you didn't actually leave the airport or enter the country. I was concerned about your checked-in luggage but it seems you had non. Only a big carry-on bag. I can't wait for your follow up video. On your next flight, the cabin crew will have no evidence of you going past certain parts of JNB International and can assume you did not make it. They normally verify your presence before you make it to the bridge-gates to get on the plane. That way they can announce if you're wandering somewhere when you should be seated.

What happens to the flight when there's a missing passenger or when the flight gets to the next airport and there's someone who has vanished Noel may have really caused a lot of people a lot of grife for his own convenience. I'd be really unhappy if i had to sit on a plane that wasn't going anywhere while the airline searched for a passenger who made a run for it. I really enjoy your videos, but this is probably the worst thing i have seen a flight blogger do. Noel, you owe a lot of people an apology. If you had been on a flight that someone else did the same thing, you would have gone off. You should be very embarrassed by your actions.

The problem is when you have to clear security at Johannesburg airport they will check your passport and find no entry stamp that’s the problem, they will think you entered the country illegally and since you escaped from LAM plane into the airport which is legally a territory of South Africa it means you did enter South Africa illegally man you are a real comedian I hope the outcome of this Lamb story is positive and the South Africans border authorities will understand the reasons behind the illegal entry to their country. Hope you are free and not in Mandela cell fugitive Noel

7: 40 That's what airlines are doing now, they are splitting up tickets that booked together to different seats, then they make you pay extra to select seats together. I flew Korean Air earlier this year with my mother who is handicapped, they split our seats and the flight crew refused to let us seat together even though the seat next to my mom's seat was empty. If you want to seat together, never buy two tickets in the same reservation, just book two tickets separately then request a specific seat number and see if you get lucky instead.

Felt a bit sorry for the passenger. I’d like to stay in my seat too. Especially if I’d only travel once a year and had it all planned in my head. If I had any retribution or ill treatment for something that I paid for, I’d feel embarrassed, guilty, and like I was a burden which I feel would be unfair and unjust. As someone with social anxiety, that would be such a hit to my confidence. I have a nice trip booked up soon, I hope it doesn’t happen to me! Window seat all the way!

In some ways you actually lucked out, octopus is quite a delicacy, more expensive than chicken or beef, too. That one looked amazing.
BTW, if you like custard tarts, some of the best I have ever had have been at the TAP lounge in Lisbon - the staff members will bring trays of the things straight from the oven and get mobbed by customers as soon as they leave backstage, they are so good that sometimes by the time the trays get to the buffet table they are all gone.

Hi Noel, a big fan of your videos and totally envious! Question as you were no longer on the LAM flight, was that flight further delayed because you were no where to be found when it eventually left for its final destination Have LAM chased you for potential flight delay compensation To be honest I would have been tempted to do the same in those circumstances myself, just to avoid the squid!

What you did is gonna cause problems, because when they start pax reconciliation you’re going to be missing. Then immigration is now involved as well as customs and it would appear as a ghost passenger and then there’s going to be major major problems there. That wasn’t very nice the team probably did their head in after all of that. Still a great video besides that part as always

so you walked away from one flight that was diverted to the very destination of a flight that you weren’t able to catch due to that very diversion
this is extremely frowned upon by airlines, but it’s also their own fault so any action taken against you is moot as they were the ones to out you right where you needed to be and on time for your flight out of that destination!

Assuming you actually pulled that off. you have in reality put the entire crew on notice. How are they supposed to explain that a passenger went missing
If this really happened (I doubt it did. just goes to show the white man privilege. Wonder when you guys will be saddled with copious documentation for your visas. Then we will see how many faux scenarios you pull off!

That LAM (Euroatlantic) 767 didn’t actually leave JoBurg for 21 hours. Imagine the crew timed out and they had to get a EuroAtlantic 767 crew to SA to fly it out.
Wonder if the Passengers had to sit in that departure lounge the whole time or if they got flown out on other flights
You made the right choice to do the runner Noel. I would of done the same thing

Welcome to Lisbon in the sky with that Octopus you were served lol. You definately got the Portuguese treatment on this flight. I've flown from Lisbon many times and being bused out to the plane is definately the norm (or arriving only to be greeted by air stairs and a bus) Ahhh it's the portuguese way. I hope you ate some Mozambique prawns when you were there!

For those who don't know, airports are designed so that people can't skip immigration checks without lots of alarms going off. Noel didn't evade immigration because he never went into a part of the airport that requires clearing immigration. It's that the airline doesn't have the right to fly people direct to SA, so they don't want passengers ditching.

Good you escaped technocratic captivity. The 1st meal looked too gross and squishy and the 2nd meal looked like artificial synthetic 21st century dystopia food. And when you escaped, then you might be in danger of alpha male lions and gangster thug humans in a filthy crime ridden street of a failed democracy hoping to score a piece of fried chicken.

Welcome to my World on the IFE. All these airlines moving to touchscreens for standard Seat functions are not only preventing visually impaired passengers from accessing the entertainment like anybody else, but also from obtaining help when we need it. We pay the same price as everyone else but routinely have to accept a lower standard of service.

Meanwhile, the entire crew of both LAM & Euroatlantic are being held in solitary confinement cells being fed 'lamb' until they can explain where the Brit from America is being hidden.
Noel laughing fiendishly as he boards the next flight out of town, where he finds a IFE and seat belts that actually work, and lamb that is really beef.

Would have been interested in seeing the crew response to the serving of octopus instead of lamb and a request to get at your bag had you brought it to their attention. I always think responses to issues can be as important or more important than the issue arising in the first place and can tell you something about the company culture.

Yes, the Please lock the door-sign is there for a reason, but it doesn't mean that everyone understands it. Once I was on an EK-flight from CGK-DXB and a lady and I had the 'luck' of having the same size of bladder and encountered the lady twice squatting ) in the dark of an unlocked toilet! Quite a loo-review it could have been!
