This video gives you an in-depth explanation on using a shotgun silencer from someone who has been shooting for fifty years. T Gun runs through a couple of his guns that he uses for fox control on a Hampshire pheasant pen. He also explains the cartridges that he uses with the moderator and in what situation to use different cartridges.
Wiltshire Man: The Greener GP (General Purpose) was and is still a very good single barrel shotgun built to last. The gun is based on the Martini Henry breech loading action. I had one many years ago which I bought new in the early 1980s. It must have been one of the very last to have been built. It had 32 inch barrels and a full choke. After several shots the safety catch kept hitting my thumb which became painful, so I didnt keep the gun. I wish I had thoughI have never had much success with the 410 I found the range very limited and as the chap says the pattern does open up rather quickly this is because the long shot column causes the spherical shot to become deformed through abrasion and forces of acceleration. These deformed pellets become Flyers and make the pattern wider than it otherwise would be in a larger bore gun which causes less pellet deformation. A good video aimed at the beginner.
