Europe has a skewed advantage on this list. As the EU allow for freedom of movement for every single state within its union. So a big portion of these numbers are coming from people taking a high speed train to commute to work or travel for business. Same could go for USA as a lot of Canadians traveling for work/shipping.

Skipped Santorini, Greece and went to Paros instead. Similar to Mykonos without the party crowds. Beautiful. I highly recommend Paros, Greece!

I will love to visit Greece and island of Santorini, maybe Japan but Italy is still by far enough for me to enjoy each year.

Fortunate enough to have been to all of these countries, some more than once. My top three picks are Turkey, Greece and the UK.
