Join us as we build another pallet wood project at the off grid cabin in the forest. Head to for a free 30 day trial and free audiobook or text taoutdoors to 500-500. Thanks to Audible for sponsoring this video Build a vegetable bed using free recycled wood to save money. With spring around the corner, we start to focus on the garden and growing vegetables. For this we build a raised vegetable bed from pallet wood. Using pallets that we have reclaimed from various industrial estates and supermarkets, we nailed together a frame and lined the bottom with recycled plastic cement bags. We then dug some top soil from the surrounding forest and put that in the vegetable bed, with the addition of a peat soil layer on top of this. Using some recycled plastic from a mattress cover, we created an apex roof to the wood frame and used some battening to keep the plastic polytunnel cover tight. By creating the polytunel this way, it helps to prevent deer and other mammals and birds from taking the plants or vegetables, and it also keeps a more consistent temperature inside to help plants grow better. The Off-Grid wilderness homestead is developing each time we come, and we are looking forward to growing our own vegetables and learning more about living off the land. As well as growing vegetables, there are also a number of wild plants in the area which we will begin to forage once the warmer spring weather sets in. The garden will also be expanded and we are looking to build more at the cabin. We feel this is a great project for those who cannot afford to, or do not have the space to build a Log Cabin in the woods. By using recycled pallet wood, you can recycle the nails and build a cabin for free. It's a great way to be money smart and save over the long term

I was just curious if the cabin is built on y'all's property or if it's built just out in the woods somewhere and if so are you not worried about someone coming along and bothering it. I would hate to see someone come along and destroying some of y'all's hard work you have put into it. I think it's the cutest little place. It's amazing all the thing's you and your dad are coming up with. Your dad is such a character. He is so funny at time's. I'm sure he's fun being around. It's great y'all are spending all the time that y'all do together because my dad is now gone and I miss him dearly so keep spending all the time you can together. I love watching y'alls videos so please keep sending them.

Hey guys - another awesome video. Speaking of Audible (I love it) I'm on the 3rd book of a series that's called After The Collapse by Devon C Ford. It's a post apocalyptic event of some strange illness taking out 90% of the population. It's actually one of these types of books that's set in the UK and is awesome I can't recommend it enough - it really gives you some food for thought and a lot of useful information too. My favourite thing that's made me think recently: That was what had offended him most about the way life had become after it happened. Sure, they were surviving in their own way, but what good was the human race without humanity? Might make a good Theory Time

i like your theory, but its the other way around. the ice melts. so therefor the water up north is getting warmer. you said more cold north water and weather. one reason why different kind of fish now go up north. besides this i personally think its just a loop in time. not warmer by men. why i say this. go on look from a airplane. a huge city below. is minuscule from the top. surrounded by huge amount of land and ocean. it would be like heating up the planet with a gstrove. impossible to my theory. enjoy both shows by the way. more fishing and outdoor combinded please. and more videos a week. hope you stay on doing videos.

I have been discussing that same thing with a friend of mine, and in an odd way we basically came to the same conclusion as your dad. I think that he is right on the most part. The fact is that the north pole ice cap is melting, and eventually will cool down the warmer waters from the gulf, and then makes the weather cooler in the north, and the warmer in the south. then the hot cold fight will be around the equator, but not as hard. if he is correct right? what about the south pole and the cold waters there? . I think that it will over time normalize itself again. maybe not in our lifetime but it will.

The loops, as you call them are dips in the river of air called the Jet Stream. This moving air ar what moves the different pressure systems, from west to east. The Gulf stream is a current of water that comes out of the Gulf of Mexico and travels up the east coast of North America and crosses the Atlantic to the UK, modifying the weather there. Both have an effect, though totally different, on the climet in the northern hemisphere, but are not actually part of global warming/climet change. That is way to deep a subject for this comment section. Great work again. By the way, you eat to much. ;-)

Theory time is awesome. It isn't just the cooling, it is the decreased salinity of the oceans. The Gulf Stream is what keeps the northern part of America and Europe warm. Disrupted by the influx of fresh water it will shift and create another Little Ice Age. The Little Ice Age lasted a few hundred years and just ended in the 1800's. It is responsible for Mary Shelly having written Frankenstein, the Irish famine, and in part, the French Revolution. Sea levels will rise and then ice. The polar vortex we have in the US is just a sample, and yes. Winter is coming. A Long one.

Another great vid with another splendid idea. Maybe time for some guttering on the hut with a pipe into a water barrel, now that yer growing things. Book recommendation - The Dragonbone Chair series by Tad Williams. Brilliant and immersive Tolkeinesque adventure. Also, if for some reason you never came across it, The Gormenghast books by Mervyn Peake for something with a lil more mirth. Lookin forward to watchin the veggies grow n what ya do with them and as for the roof. .. Ya gotta go with the living Moss roof. Surely

you guys are awesome. as far as theory time goes. I agree with you but maybe for different reasons. the sun is nearly completely inactive. its called a maunder minimum. the last time this occurred was around 1500-1750. and your christmas pudding map is exactly right for what it resulted in. a 250 year mini ice age that froze the river Tims and change Europe forever. England went from the great agricultural and wine center to. well. not. anyway, you guys are funny, talented and I love the interaction. fair thee well.

I Believe England as well as many other islands may end up disappearing because of global warming and the rise of the ocean. Global warming means its going to end up getting warmer and there will be no mini Ice Ages Im an American, I live in Orem Utah: by the Cascade Mountains I also believe what ever countries, cities, or towns that are on the edge of an ocean; like the East Coast, Florida, and many coast-line cities in California in the United States Will Disappear under the ocean waves
