Join us at the bushcraft viking house in the woods for a viking feast The building of this bushcraft shelter was done using hand tools only, over the period of roughly 9 days. We used an axe, knife, and saw for most of the build, but we also used traditional woodworking tools such as an auger and a drawknife for some of the mortise and tenon joints and timber framing. The house is based on an a-frame design and we used cedar logs for this. In this special episode of the bushcraft viking house, we created an edited down version of all of the feasts and cooking that we have done throughout the series. We cooked on Petromax cast iron dutch ovens and wrought iron skillets

Missing Video-- So the cooking is quite amazing in many ways and the ingredients are very nice however I am still missing the video on how one traps, captures, hunts, this wonderfully elusive forest tree squid. You have shown several videos with these delicious wiggly wonders being prepared for consumption but never how you have obtained the branch dwelling squid. I assume many things about this rare breed of slimy bark residents that appear undamaged during preparation. This condition of the tasty tentacle treats could only have resulted from very careful capture methods and possibly some type of innovative way to subdue the elusive appetizer. I would recommend you do not tell me about the methods used for capturing the north American Snipe as I am sure these will not work. Further, I know of the jackalope and do not think those methods of capture are practical and I believe that shooting the squid will make it inedible. So, please show us how you did it; is it a viking mystery, is it a highly perfected skill in using a harmonica and special musical knife, whatever it is. fill us in. Oh and thank you so much for these fun and interesting videos.

Man I'm hungry again and I just ate 5 mins ago I have an idea for you guys I do all the time. Get your hands on a backstrap from a whitetail, cut half way through it the length of the backstrap. pack the cut with butter then line it with bacon. Next wrap the outside with bacon, then wrap the whole thing tight with jute twine. I wrap mine then in foil but if you want the more natural way guess you could use large leaves, just don't let all the grease and butter run out. place it in the coals or in your oven.

Hey Mike I've seen all your videos and I have to say that you're camping chef, should work in a restaurant if not own one. The other thing I wanted to say is I have a similar wok style pan made out of a plow disk it's very heavy about 20 lb and 2 foot wide but they're absolutely perfect for Big group camping, make up all your vegetables put them in vacuum bags. bring some cooked rice and a few Chinese spices and soy sauce best surprise dinner hungry hunters could ever have at deer camp

My goodness, you guys eat well. My mouth was absolutely watering. Tips for you guys, since you naturally cannot regulate open fire heat, always cook the chopped garlic towards the very end of the meal. The last 1-2 mins. Same applies when adding soya sauce. Add in meal the very last 2-3 minutes, otherwise the hot temperature will burn off the flavor.

So excited for you and your wife on your new house. Life doesnt get any better than having a family to fill it up with. We loved watching this cooking video from your Viking house build. We should have listened to you and eaten breakfast before watching this. Absolutely mouth-watering. Great job and thank you so much.

LIKE this edit of scenes from videos I have also enjoyed in the past: great food shots and bushcraft/campfire cooking tips. and Dustin knows how to bring along unexpected but nutritional food resources. And. the Viking House progresses magically in the background. Good Work. Best Regards to Dustin
