Join us at the medieval bushcraft camp where I finish building the window shutter for the thatched roof anglo saxon house. I carve some wood hinges and using wood dowels to help make the shutter open and close. Using a hand auger to make the holes for the pegs. Meanwhile Dad works on moving the old bushcraft camp wood to a better location and reinforces the firepit

Great vid as usual, but watch out for the concrete. If it gets too hot it will explode, there's a good chance it will crack then shoot out at you in pieces.
I took a building down once and had to leave site, when i got back the lads had built a fire on the slab. I got out of the van and nxt minute there was chunks of concrete flying through the air like an exploding volcano, straight over a 7 foot fence and showering all the cars on an Aldi car park! people running everywhere lol. seems funny now but it wasn; t at the time, jumped straight in the dozer and dozed the fire onto a bit of waste ground. The lads had a good talking to to say the least! lol
Follow all your vids, just don't want any accidents while your eating your dinner that's all.
Great vid. looking forward to the nxt.

Honestly you guys should open up a museum of sorts. There's a museum in Staunton, Virginia called the Frontier Culture Museum that has a bunch of houses/cabins from different cultures and ages. It's pretty popular on the East Coast of America and I would think that something like this in England would be popular as well

I m going to try building your bushcraft super shelter, it would make my day if you liked my comment or even commented on it because it has been a ruff few weeks so that would be awesome and thank you if you do, you have been helping my cousin and I with bushcraft a lot so thank you.

Glad to see you did not bring with you the roof digger outer, (Jack) even though he is a wonderful little lad, he is a natural digger. Think you need a bigger wheel on your barrow as Dad looked as if he was struggling somewhat with them logs.

You ve probably mentioned this in other videos, but do you have permission to use the land or own it?
It would be my dream to do what you guys do. It feels so natural to be in the woods, building things and having fires.

This was Awesome you guys inspired me to make a off grid cabin as well with my dad and my money and I plan on taking the best of the Viking house and roundhouse and Saxon house into account when I m up there

you may want to round (or take off) the back corner (on vertical) of the shutter side hinge block.
it looks like it catches as the shutter opens & closes.

Mind letting me know what age Graeme is at this point? Just awe inspiring to see a son and his good old lad out crafting and doing little adventures together.

You should put the latch on the inside of the window and maybe some type of handle on the inside so you can pull it closed
