If you are coming to florida in the summer months plan on drinking water constantly or you will dehydrate. Going outside in the summer months you will be out there about one minute and totally feel clammy and you will start wiping the sweat from your face immediately. The beaches are white sand and beautiful but make sure you have an umbrella because you will need it and use plenty of sunblock and put it on all the time. Orlando has gotten so busy its really over crowded but still a lot of fun. Plan on longggggggg waiting lines at the disney attraction and make sure you get the fast pass or you will go on about four rides in one day. Don't go near miami. I have lived in florida for many years and I go through it going to the keys, which are beautiful by the way, but no way would i stop there. Its run over with cubans and spanish is their first language down there. The winter months are hard driving around because of the tourists and they have no idea where they are going and cause many traffic accidents. If you want to see and hear about heritage then make a point to go to st augustine. There is a trolley there that shows you and explains everything and you can get off when you want. So much to see there its a shame they did not put st augustine on that list. Do some research and look up the places that are quaint fishing villages and where the real southern history is and there is your real fun

HONEST ONE
I'm from ft. myers fl. Close to Naples fl, sanibel island. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY COMING HERE. Especially if you want to do fishing. Our waters have been ruined for years and years. We recently had a HUGEE fish kill, red tide that lasted a year, we have no fish here in our area. Yes this use to be the place for wildlife and fishing but nomore. Also pay for parking, tolls (outrageous) there far better places to visit in Florida other than sw. Florida. I forgot to add the blue green algae that is being released from lake O and contributing to the damage and our government and others in charge can careless. There so worried about tourist revenue that when this algae pops up they keep the beaches open and say as far as we know it's not harmful yeahhh ok just smells like shit but hey you can swim and fish. Visit the east coast of Florida if your coming to Florida. Maybe if the tourists stopped coming they will get the hint although all it would take is to be here for just one of the times this happens and i promise you wont be back.

You rank Clearwater Beach by itself and then later rank the Tampa Bay area. This just in, Clearwater Beach is also part of the Tampa Bay area. Generally speaking it includes, St. Pete, St. Pete Beach, Clearwater, Clearwater Beach, Bradenton, Sarasota, and that cesspool across the bay called Tampa. Perhaps you could have consolidated CWB with St. Pete and then you would have had a spot to includ St. Augustine. Also, you missed a lot of pretty neat spots not on either coast which tourists and visitors to the Plastic Kingdom in Borlando don't even know exist.

When I think of Florida, I think of hot, humidity, and hurricanes. Lived there 25 yrs. right above Naples. My husband used to work on those 40 million dollar homes in Naples. Ive been on Sanibel Island too. Way to many people down there now. In the early 80s it wasn't bad, as far as people. We are back home in Ohio now. Much happier here in rural small town. Love it. Don't even mind the winters. Enjoy change of seasons. I also like the hills and mountains. Never a beach person.

Stay away from Miami and Miami Beach. The Mopes have ruined the beach. All this urban thug week bull crap. And the absolute worst drivers anywhere. A large majority of people here are hispanic and just a year or two ago that same guy who dosent know what a turn indicator is and just cut off five people making a left turn from the far right hand lane and on a red light. Was driving a donkey in El Salvador. Just saying.

If you want to come to Miami to experience culture, dont go to glamorous south beach. Go to Hialeah. Miami is crowded, hot and humid, and is full of drivers who dont know their right from their left. But ya know, we have nightclubs I guess. But if youre under 21 its not like theres much to do. I dont ever go to the beach, its dirty and full of tourists. Just. dont come here, we are so full already.

I currently live in beautiful San Diego that happens to have the best climate anywhere. I lived in Miami for approximately 35 years, and the only thing that I miss is the Cuban food, the gorgeous Latin women and the fishing. Miami is also the best looking town in Florida, the architecture, landscape and infrastructure is head and shoulders above all other places in the state.
