Most exclusive seaplane in the Maldives: flight to Soneva Fushi (AMAZING)

Join me on this flight onboard the most exclusive seaplane in the Maldives, a DHC-6 Twin Otter which has been customized to meet Sonevas luxury brand standards. Thor Swenson: This is absolutely hysterical The level of hypocritical virtue signaling in this cheesy Soneva brand is so ridiculous that it's just funny. A resort in the Maldives, where you have to fly a jumbojet spewing kerosene jet fuel into the stratosphere to get there, then pretends to be sustainable by chauffeuring tourists in Teslas to a kerosene fueled seaplane that has had half the capacity ripped out to provide a more luxurious flight in purple leather seats. And I imagine the families, like this one shown in this video, think they are superior because they went to this ridiculously hypocritical resort when they could have spent one thousandth the carbon output by staying home for a week and having a few good family dinners and playing some board games together. This appears to be a giant joke, but I'm afraid it isn't. But my God it's just so funny and hyprocritical

Just good filming. In my opinion, using a helicopter or a private boat is more suitable and safer for such a places, Also quite direct from the capital's airport to the desired island (like North island or Fregate Island in Seychelles). After hours of flight, sitting in a car, another airplane and then boat? Seaplane was similar to a bird taxi. (I never trust that person 05: 35 - Unfortunately, the discipline of Maldives is very low like Saudi Arabia). Are the kids working on the iPad instead of watching the outside? (07: 09 - 07: 58) What is the reason for traveling? Where rich people can not be completely free, you shouldn't go there (09: 56). Tesla, is not a good car for vip airport transfer. (Mercedes-Benz & BMW are more suitable - It's also better not to support Elon Musk the charlatan).

hi hi. how are you doing today? 1: 38 I like the natural wood finish for seating area and also for the coasters for the drinks. 3: 26 so those are your kids, very cool. I like the Purple & Grey colours of the plane and the cabin as well 3: 15, I think if i were a Seaplane pilot. instead of flipflops i would rather some other light weight soft wear. but year Barefoot pilots. so awesome 5: 35, beautiful video. i just wonder though, if those resorts are not worried about storms or flooding.

I believe drone imaging so pleases the mind because it evokes the thrill of flying for the human that cannot see the world in that fashion, until technology evolved to allow us such viewing. Everyday places can be ever-so hum-drum & banal at eye level, but at 300ft its a very different story indeed. Reinvigorate the mind, get a good drone & enthuse anew. Life is wonderful & made ever more so with awesome places to see.

As always, thanks for the video But its so short, youre going to have to give us an extra long video next week to make up for this shortie. I hate to ask but Im sure thousands of your viewers are going to ask the same question. how much did these places cost per night on your recent visits? And yes Im well aware of the old saying: If I have to ask, I probably cant afford it

That Tesla says a carbon neutral experience. Seriously? Taking a 9 hour flight to The Maldives in business class, adding the sea plane and motor boat transfer, can hardly be called carbon neutral. It may well be that Soneva genuinely tries to limit the damage to the direct environment they operate in, but the word greenwashing comes to mind when you see that slogan.
reply

What is ethical about a Tesla? It is not carbon neutral. the mining process for lithium alone is one of the most dangerous and dirty processes ever invented. If they were serious about being carbon neutral they would row you over to the island in a row boat. Carbon neutral is a false marketing term made up to make people feel good about themselves.

Commercial airlines should serve on flights and in lounges only healthy snacks (1: 56) and beverages (5: 53, and no processed snacks (wrapped in plastic) or soft drinks / soda (served in aluminum cans. It is disconcerting to see cans of Coke, Sprite, and the like in personal minibars and at self-service bars in the premium classes.

At 10: 00 I see guests taking their shoes off, I assume the resort encourages totally bare-feet experience, that's amazing Two weeks ago we stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Maldives and was sad to wear shoes often, however before that the Conrad Maldives we spent eight whole days without wearing shoes - amazing experience.

I don't believe that. Normal doctor without own clinic or hospital can't fly all over the world to the best and most expensive resorts on Earth. You must be owner of big private clinic or something like this because casual doctor can't make more than 300-400k/year and fly month by month to the best resorts in the world.
