Join me on a Business Class flight onboard a British Airways Airbus A320 from London Heathrow Airport (UK) to Brussels (Belgium. The video includes a quick tour of British Airways' First Class Lounge at Heathrow. Keep watching till the end: there are some tense moments as the pilot's first attempt to land at Brussels fails due to hurricane-force gusts (aborted landing or go around. MrMatt1138: My Dad used to pilot small planes, mostly for business travel but occasionally would take the family out for a flight. On one occasion on our way back to the airport we found ourselves in some rough weather, something my Dad wasn't rated for. It was a little hairy but more so when I looked at him and he looked nervous. We passed out of the clouds and weather but found shortly before landing that the indicator light that the landing gear was down wasn't lit, but my Dad was positive they had been deployed. I don't recall how he confirmed the landing gear was down, but it was. A few additional nervous moments. Definitely a different experience at times flying in a small plane.

1. Congrats on the milestones! Quite an achievement considering I don't think we've ever heard your voice or seen your face (other than reflected in a window here and there!
2. It's quite the amusing juxtaposition seeing you struggling to fit comfortably in what is effectively an economy-class seat after seeing you in some first-class personal cabins that are larger than my bathroom.
3. I've only ever had one scary landing. It was back in January 2004, flying from Las Vegas to Calgary, landing at about 11: 30pm. It was mostly fine until the very end of the landing, when the plane started spinning a bit due to the ice. Fortunately, it didn't go off the runway or hit anything, but they made us wait about 15 minutes before going to the gate.
4. I hope you're doing okay!

Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Birmingham. We hit turbulence as lunch was being served. It was so bad every one's food tray just bounced upwards, hit the overhead lockers/ceiling and food was everywhere but on the plate! Except mine! I hung onto my food as if my life depended on it!
To add insult to injury, after landing with an almighty thud, the pilot was so far off the jet bridge that we had to disembark using the stairs! Never again Turkish Airlines!

In 2007 I took Ethiad flight from Abu to Colombo. Soon after take off when the stewardesses removed the belts and got up from their seats the plane turned abt 45 degrees to the right. I saw the panic in the eyes of the stewardesses
Some people started to recite prayers
Still I am puzzled why the plane suddenly turn so much
Appreciate if someone could give the cause

Experienced a similar event landing at Narita Tokyo in early spring 2014. Japan gets this severe crosswind when winter/spring mixes. Very similar to your landing barely touched the runway to be fully plowed into my seat as the pilot had to pull up. you can feel the full force of the engine these turbulent up and down motion. but all good. pilots are skilled

Scariest was an Egypt Air flight over the desert, it dropped about 2000 metres after flying into a hole in the air! Apparently they can form over very hot deserts and there is/was no equipment that can spot them. A very good reason for wearing your seat belt all the time.

What's the saying. Every landing you walk away from is a good one. Remember coming into Glasgow one morning on a Dash-8. Think the pilot must have been a former Navy pilot who was going for the second wire because we hit the deck quite robustly lets just say.

Good morning my friend. A great review of British Airways which is my national airline, however its not my favorite airline, it needs a total rebrand and upgrade. I hope you enjoyed your white knuckle ride.
Stay safe my friend.
Kind regards
DS

This happened 2-3 yrs back. We missed our heart beat when a very small kid at the time of landing said, this plane is going to crash. Literally hold our breath till it landed safely. OMG!
Sounds funny now but not then!
