Scenic mountain driving on the Angeles Crest scenic byway (California Highway 2) in Southern California just outside of Los Angeles in 4K. The road was only partially open when we made our trip, so we were only able to drive about 37 miles from La Cañada Flintridge up to near San Gabriel Canyon Road, then we turned around and headed back down to I-210. This is certainly one of the most beautiful and most fun roads to drive in southern California, and can be very dangerous as well. #angelescresthighway

The Angeles Crest Highway has sort of a twin in the San Gorgonio Mountains, called the Rim-Of-The-World Highway, combined California State Routes 18 & 38, commencing in North Central San Bernardino and ending somewher East of Redlands. There is also a side-drive called City Creek Road, California State Route 330, which comes out of Running Springs. May I please suggest that at some point, you tape this for us It passes by Southern California's answer to Lake Tahoe, Big Bear Lake and goes over the Desert Subalpine pass of Onyx Summit. Others may have taped it, but I don't believe that they've given it the due diligence, QUALITY, attention, and CARE, as you would.

What a fabulous drive! I loved the views going up but going down really made me happiest. The views spectacular, the road snaking along below where we were, and I felt the curves in my belly up AND down. One of the curviest roads I've ever seen. Loved loved loved this! Thank you. This is the best form of meditation for me.

This road is often closed more than it's open. Nice to see the views, sad to see all the damage from wildfires and bark beetles. I rode my bicycle up there from Mt. Wilson to Charlton Flat before the Bobcat fire. The lizard looked like it was well fed. Thanks for sharing.

Be it on a bike or in a car. travelling soothes my soul. I don't know what it is or why. But, it just does. There is so much to see in this beautiful country of ours. When you're out on the road, there are no politics, no problems, life is just good. rain or shine.

So sad that the highway is not always fully opened. Such a beautiful place to drive. You would really forget that such a dense city like LA is just next to it. I really hope the highway will be fully opened again.

amazing drive that I did around the same time as this video was posted, give or take a few months. It is unfortunately now closed from the point in 20: 47 and onwards due to this year's storms.

Wow, thank you for your efforts, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Been to LA once but never took that drive. I wonder what that trip cost you in gas money. I certainly wouldn't drive a bicycle there.

This video threw me curve as it came from the east east and north and came out in LaCanada. I'm used to entertain Angeles Creast from LaCanada. I got thrown for a curve. Interesting though.

Your videos sans the music would be greatly appreciated to give a more genuine feel of the drive. Anybody who really wants some music can add their own.
