I grew up in Allenspark, and we took this drive (with visitors) so so many times! I have since moved away to northern NY, where there are no tourists (yay) but also no mountains! We live on a dirt road, not exactly the Big Apple. .but I do miss those mighty mountains, the particular smells in the air, the quality of light. thank you!

My wife and I are making our first trip to RMNP in July. Not going to lie, there were a few parts on this video where I got a bit nervous. Those drop offs seem to be pretty steep. This will definitely test our nerves we don’t have this type of terrain in Indiana, we just have cornfields.

how is this drive compared to driving in the Smoky Mountains Is It the same harder or easier My family and I really want to do this but were not sure if we can lol. We handled the Smoky Mountains really well so if it's similar that'd be great.

Hi from the UK! We did this drive a few years ago in the opposite direction - it's definitely not one for those with a fear of heights!
Really missing our trips to the US so these videos are serving as a welcome substitute: )

We can’t wait for it to warm up enough here for us to hit the road again. The joys of living near Buffalo. The mountains look beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Would love to make this drive but it looks very scary! Any tips on how to work up the courage to make this drive Perhaps easier drives in Colorado before making this one

I went there few days ago and it was an amazing drive. Love the twisty tight turns and scary edges of the road. Definitely plan to hit up Cottotwood Pass next time.

We are going to RMNP in October 4-6, 2021and plan on making that Trail Ridge Road Scenic Drive. Do you thinks there will be snow then
reply

I've been here twice. The first time most of it was closed because of all of the snow but the next time we went in September. (2015)

I was there in August also. I think I saw the same Mule Deer Buck. I'm a hunter so I pay attention to those things LOL.

Can you please how did you do this set up and what camera did you use. I have failed to get any good shooting while driving.

in the 80s it was a gravel road at the top. You can see Long's Peak from up there. 14K plus ft high.

I thought the Rocky Mountains would be more rockier than this. that John Denver is full of sht man
