My take on this video is, that the filmer needs to interview residents of the area in which they are interviewing, and not just video and give his view points. videos like this only gives a much negative take on the city and the people of it. Allendale is not a dangerous neighborhood, and it's population has decreased due to political mandates, which has caused residents to move to other ares. Allendale and the bottoms are old historical areas, which the government has torned down, for their own financial gain. You need to dorsal see Shreveport and actually interact, to really know about this City.

You can tell the age of those old downtown buildings, the ones with the window height larger than modern windows, built to raise the windows because there was no air conditioning when built. Downtown Houston had buildings like that well up into the early 70s. The largest hospital in Lafayette La never was air conditioned until the mid 70s, I can't imagine being bed ridden in a closed off large building. I like that bar, they frisk you for a gun when you enter, and if you don't have one they loan you one.

I've lived in Shreveport since 1997. I won't argue that some areas are dangerous and there is a high level of crime in those areas. However, there are some great areas of town, especially south of downtown. Some of the neighborhoods are nice and quiet. The one I live in is one of those. Some are beautifully maintained. It looks like you picked only the bad areas to focus on. It's cool to the city through the eyes of strangers, but do try to show the good as well as the bad.

I was stationed there from 85 to 90. Highest unemployment rate in the country at the time. Shreveport had the title for most murders occurred. I became the first bounty hunter on active duty while there. I retired from the military in m1990 and stayed there bounty hunting for four more years. I was making good money but eventually couldn't take the wife out for an enjoyable evening without running into someone i had arrested.

These people need to research areas of a town before they take off on a rant about the deteriorating neighborhoods. They have no clue that these areas do not represent Shreveport. I was born and raised there and some of these areas were so different when I was growing up. They’re missing out on seeing some beautiful neighborhoods. Very upsetting to hear the criticism. 2: 36

Lord Spoda always seems amazed by predominantly African American neighborhoods. The people are poor man. They dont have resources to keep their houses up. And if your a homeowner you usually try to keep up the property if your physically able. But renters. Poor renters. They are the ones with all the trash on the property cause they just dont give a shiz.

There’s plenty going on in Shreveport. On weekends you can’t get a hotel room due to festivals and other things. So, come spend a few nights. You’ll see. Also, you went to the wrong areas to depict Shreveport, because there are many very nice neighborhoods. You can’t just take a cursory view of things and provide an accurate description.

I don't blame the leaders of Shreveport for the abandoned houses. What do you want them to do Go in and clean it all up and rebuild them so the people living there can trash them again It's the people. The culture that needs to change. Respect what you have and take care of it. Don't wait for somebody else to do it. You do it. Have a little pride man.

I was born and raised in Shreveport and you’re spot on with your criticisms. There are quite a few things about Shreveport that would give you the impression that it is a crappy town. I know you stick close to the downtown area on your tours but the neighborhoods close to downtown are the worst in the city.

15 years ago the Chicago was cool. Across the street where it said Style was a pretty cool spot too. They had one place back then that you took an elevator down to the club. Then if you are leaving out going towards Texarkana this Whataburger always had crazy stuff happening from the drunks.

I saw a few stars in the Louisiana Hay Ride. I saw Conway Twitty Loretta Lynn Charlie Pride. He signed my motorcycle helmet my husband drove to the concert on our motorcycle. Some time along the way the helmet got lost. Wish I still had it. Loretta autographed her book Cold Miners Daughter.

My dad was born and raised in Shreveport, and he made me promise that I wouldn’t go there ever in my lifetime, even though I so desperately want to visit just to see where pops stumping ground was but I heard lots of stories, he is resting in heaven now so I will keep my promise to him.

From 1982-1984 I was stationed at Barksdale AFB which is just across the Red River from Shreveport in a different dump known as Bossier City, LA. Shreveport was 20 years behind the times, EXTREMELY poor, EXTREMELY hateful, and I left that area never to return.

Maybe at the time this was recorded it was #10 but nowadays it’s not. One list I saw said #45 some don’t even have it in the top 100 anymore. Anyway when it comes to major city’s in Louisiana it actually has a lower crime rate then most of them.

In the warmer parts of houses in Australia, the homes are on pillars, so as to create some cooling wind about the house. This is probably common everywhere. Surely some guy doesn't live in this house. Don't call me Shirley.

Shreveport/Bossier spans almost 2, 500 square miles and you literally went 2 or 3 miles either way off of I-20. I’m a resident but while there is a lot of bad and disrepair you showed damn near nothing of Shreveport.

Ratchet city. Most all the industry closed down decades ago. All the middle class moved to Texas. All that’s left are poor people and vacancy. It’s sad. It’s nothing like the city I grew up in in the 70s and 80s.

Forgotten and abandoned for the city of Shreveport! I am very familiar with the area, have worked in it for years! What is worse, is the police department is right in the center of it all! So sad!

I wonder about no one walking the streets. Is it FEAR that causes them to go to work, and go home, and nothing in between Is it because employers have on-site parking for their employees.

It's downright implausible that there isn't a single piece of graffiti on that mural building in the 10th most dangerous area. I refuse to accept it at face value. Not buying it, DUDE!

Bad parts of town. Run down. A whole lit of tornados and straight line winds tear through that area. No insurance money to repair. Low income areas.
I have family near there.

I would say that the neighborhood looks like it's from The Walking Dead, but at least the walkers in the show appear to keep the lawns mowed
