2018 Kia Stinger GT vs 2018 Infiniti Q50 3. 0t Sport Head to Head comparison Philip Dimitriadis: Thanks for the review and time spent. but. When you pull up in front of an awesome restaurant, with a hot lady inside your car, you want to be getting out of an Infiniti Q50 Red Sport No questions asked Something car reviewers dont do to much of, nor think about in their reviews. They are all the same reviews a lot of time, and forget that a car is also symbolic of style, design and flow of positive energy associated with class and BRANDING INFINITI has earned its keep, Kia. not quite yet, and definitely not luxury, Infiniti has class, style, and reputation. The Kia is Mountain Dew in a fancy cup. Good luck on the longevity of the new engine, and resale. What about the fact that the engine inside the Q50 and Q60 is the same engine in the 350zx, tested over 10+ years, and picked as one of the top engines in the last 10 years in all of automotive engineering. Where is the stylization, coolness factor and hot lady factor? Reviewers forget that, and those optional review aspects. Be cool, and separate yourself from the flock (Would they rather get out of a Kia, or Infiniti. just being honest ) Sorry got to go, and take my wife out to dinner in my Q50 Red Sport. Thanks for the review, but where is the coolness factor? Infiniti has the luxury factor for the couple and the nice restaurant in Newport Beach, CA. Kia is in front of 7 eleven. Also what about expandability to customized parts. Kia has nothing. Infiniti has outside customization form exhaust to turbos. endless. because of their history and experience. Customized parts is also another consideration and Infinity has multiple options. Kia. I dont think so.

There are alot of ignorant people in this post, many which dont know much about cars. They just look at brand name and run away with it without looking at qualities, features, and overall buy. The guy who did this review mentioned the Q50 is one of his favor luxury vehicle but still gave the nod to the Stinger over the Q50. He had every right to give it to the Q50, but just because it is an luxury car doesnt always mean it is the best overall value. I have a Q50 3. 7L and it is an enjoyable car. I previously had a 2005 Acura TL and there are some things that the TL had that the Q50 doesnt have which drove me nuts. The newer vehicle which is the Q50 doesnt even have seat memory feature, 6 disc cd changer audio or even Apple play. Even if you go for the top of the line Q50 Red Sport, it doesnt even have Apple play? What the hell? This isnt exactly a deal breaker but something so simple as this it should include. This tells me that this vehicle is behind in times in technology. The Kia Stinger has so much more features than the luxury car. This SHOULD never happen. There is a reason why the infiniti is a luxury car and the Kia is not. If your getting out shinned by a Kia, then there is something wrong with this luxury car. My point is the luxury vehicle should never be out-classed by a grand touring vehicle especially a Kia. For those that are knocking on the Kia, you can continue spending 80k and 90k cars while the Kia will make you look like a fool and those vehicle you spend so much money on wont even have 25% resale value.

Good review but I disagree with the advantages you give the Stinger. I have tested both cars, and I would rather go with the Q50S silver. I am a spirited driver and put both cars to the same test. Immediately I felt much more body role, in sport mode, in the Stinger than in the Q60S Silver. The stinger is very comfortable in front as in the Q50, but the rear I find they both measure the same. The Stinger has a few more features thats the Q50, trunk space, electric trunk, spare tire. But the interior in the Q50 leads the way, the doors in the Stinger do not feel or look as elaborated as the Q50, I definitely prefer the screens in the Infiniti than the Stinger, much more classier I have heard the Infiniti 3. 0T is underrated at 300HP, and I do believe it is so I prefer d the pick up on the Infiniti than in the Stinger, but the Stinger definitely has power and good pick up as well. The Q50S Silver with the bells and whistles is around 54k and change, the Stinger is around 52k and change. You mentioned the balance in the Stinger Vs the Q50, I could not feel the difference. One thing I totally disagree with you is that the steering in the Q50S is superior to the Stinger. As said, we agree to disagree. This said, I do believe the Stinger, for its first year out, is a great car, but it is still a Kia for over 52k, Ill go with the Q50S Silver Still a great review.

I find it. interesting for lack of a better word. how all of the car reviewers (not just picking on Alex) who compare the various Kia models to their Japanese competitors leave out a very important component in the comparisons; build quality/reliability. Im sure many of the newer Kias are nice cars to drive, right up until the point that they flat out quit, or something major breaks. It may even be that they have gotten better over the years compared to the total s#t-boxes that Kia used to make; but I am not ready to leave my uber-reliable Toyota, Honda, or other Japanese brand behind and step into a Kia - and certainly not at the same price point.

Having owned a regular Q50 and now a Q50 Red Sport I have to say this review is not comparing apples to apples. If your gonna compare to a stinger you have to use the Q50 red sport. The stinger out the gate is geared to performance. The Q50 is luxury geared until you get into the sport. All the short commings you reported such as braking handling and acceleration would be much different. as far as price, come on now. Nobody buys a car because another one is cheaper. If your buying a 50K car you shouldnt care if its 3 to 4k difference in either direction. If it makes a difference your in the wrong category and wishfull thinking.

Kia needs to create a separate luxury brand like Honda did with Acura, Nissan with Infiniti not too many people in America with pay 50, 000-60, 000 for a Kia, part of the reason why many people pay 50, 000 or higher for a car is the same reason why some people pay 200 for jeans or other clothing its for the brand name and status symbol, higher brand names give people the perception of quality and luxury even if the cheaper brand is the same, I cant tell you how many times people have said wow those new Kia are nice but its still a Kia. I dont think Kia understand their main market America to well.

Thank you for the excellent review its professional, knowledgeable and enjoyable to watch Stinger be killer at same wheelbase as Q50 as its already a no brainer in this comparison. I have an Optima and I can image if it was smaller, faster and tighter with better grip, it would be a Stinger. Nicer interior in Q50 imo, that display in the Kia needs to be retractable into the dash or or old school folding would be better, not a fan of that. Stinger for me as its totally a new version of Volvos 1800ES Wagon in the looks dept, no performance comparison though lol. Id buy one and may do so.

Very good comparison. Stinger is a super fast car. Ive leased cars every two years for the past 15. I have now a Kia Stinger GT1. This one has been the best after having BMW, Subarus, infinity, Acuras and Audis. Super good performance, styling and reliability. People asked me in every corner what is my car. Italian style with German dynamics. It is also a hatchback same as Audi A7 but this one is 70K My stinger smoked many cars for only 42k. Koreans showed with Hyundai, Genesis and Samsung and other brands than can be very reliable and competitive My best car in 15 years.

HERE IS THE REAL COMPARISON THAT HE SHOULD OF DONE: 2019 q50 red sport awd vs 2019 stinger GT2 awd both fully loaded1. kia - 53, 400 infinity - 55, 9502. kia - 376 lb-ft 1, 300-4, 500 360 6, 000 rpm inifinity - 350 lb-ft 1, 600-5, 200 rpm 400hp 6, 400 Infinity - has more power for longer and has more usable power. 3. kia - 4, 023 lb infinity - 3, 991 lb So infinity is lighter weight and less bulky no one likes parking a boat. 4. kia - 1 screen infinity - 2 screens5. kia - AEM parts not under warranty infinity - AEM parts by AMS are under warranty.

i agree with many on the panel about this not being a fare fight regardless of both cars being similarly priced the Kia is a truer sports sedan with luxury entry luxury features, but the infinity is an entry level luxury car with a sporty driving nature a loaded kia stinger is around 50 with 375bhp and a base infinity redsport with 400bhp is 51k. that would be a better comparo and dogfight feature wise. Kia/hyundai puts standard features in cars that not even MERC, BMW or Audi puts in their cars without paying a hugh premium
