When is a Corolla Not A Corolla? 2020 Toyota C-HR

Whatever you want to call the C-HR, it's one of the best deals available for a high-riding compact whatever-it-is. The looks are still controversial, but it comes with a reasonable amount of power for the dollar, a ton of active safety technology, and for 2020 a refreshed infotainment system. It's also oddly enough closely related to the Toyota Corolla. It shares the engine and transmission with the last generation of Toyota's compact sedan but they both ride on the company's new TNGA platform. The: The Toyota CH-R: When a carmaker gets the look right, but nothing else. Not powerful or fast. Not luxurious, or pleasant to be around. Not roomy, or easy to use. And no AWD option. It does many things. None of them well.

CHR was a nice styling exercise but poor execution. For a long time no Apple CarPlay, for example. No AWD, no better powertrain. Ive seen much slower 0-60 times posted by others, Alex got 9. 5s. For me, Its a cross off due to the powertrain, too slow and CVT only. Id be looking at the Seltos 1. 6t, the CX30, and looking forward to the 2021 Crosstrek 2. 5. Im hoping for a manual option but probably CVT only, blech. Maybe even a leftover Buick Encore with the better 1. 4L which they no longer make. I rented one, it was surprisingly nice. If I was forced to find something much cheaper, Id consider a Soul LX 6MT and add nicer wheels, or a Crosstrek 6MT.

I sat in one of these at the Auto Show in my city and it felt claustrophobic in the back seat. The rear window literally only covers to front half of the door, if you are sitting in the seat and you turn your head you can't see anything. you have to lean forward if you want to look out of the window.

This thing would make an excellent EV. Give it about 200-220hp and like 260-270lb-ft tq. with about 250mi range and it would sell like hotcakes. This could be so much better and would go head to head with Kona EV, Niro EV, Bolt EV, and all the others.

I think you should better off buying Hyundai Venue, Venue has about the same interior room as CHR and both are slow car, but Venue gets better fuel economy, and just in my opinion, CHR does look ugly, I would rather get a cheaper Venue than CHR.

I just dont see the value in this vehicle. And now that I see it's made in turkey this is clearly a vehicle anyone with any kind of brain should stay away from, they produce some of the poorest quality car components on planet earth.

Alex, Just a few days ago in your video about car reliability you said that C-HR is the bottom of reliability rankings. However, in this video you are saying that C-HR is reliable choice. What gives?

Drove one as a rental for work when my fleet vehicle was in for service. The seat ended up hurting my back: / I think it's just the way they're shaped.
