Love the styling evolution from the previous G80 to this generation. And that interior is really primo in top trims(though I do hate that Genesis has decided to follow the Germans in going to a cheapened leatherette (also known as pleather/vinyl) on base and mid-trims. Yes, they all do it, but Genesis needed to further differentiate themselves and show why they're better beyond price. Which brings me to another thing: The base V6 seems to be the sweet spot, especially since the V6 appears to incorporate many of the packaged items from the 2. 5L car(gonna miss the strong 3. 8L V6 as standard too. However, the top-shelf V6 w/Prestige nips at 70-large, which is still cheaper than an E450(especially, A6 3. 0T(nearly loaded, and definitely a 540i. And Genesis knows that. At 70k, those cars are only mildly equipped still. But Genesis has its own elephant in the room: The loaded, 77k G90. Yes, it is a bit older, but it is a LOT of car for the money on the same lot. Plus Genesis will likely offer deals quicker on the slower selling G90. Would've loved to see a loaded G80 3. 5T at around the 65k mark.

No longer a value proposition anymore. The brand prestige should worth 5, 000 7, 000 extra. Given most buyers of this segment lease their vehicles, the price difference becomes a moot point. Should remove 2. 5T lineup entirely to simply the inventory and build/service complexity. That would in-turn grant even lower sticker price to persuade (even lease) shoppers on the fence.

the g80 is interesting, but is the extra equipment enough to get it the win in sales? the biggest problem is the brand and its lack of dealers. the local genesis dealer also sells hyundai and besides the g70 the showroom is dedicated to the Hyundai lineup. i prefer to look at cars without having someone bring it up from the lot.

The 2020 G80 is one of the most underrated luxury cars in America The 2021 G80 is making a great offering even better. The 47, 700 Advance Model is a great buy Genesis is doing today what Lexus was doing to the market a generation ago. They're just missing the incredible marketing campaign Lexus has in their first few years

ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS IF THEY FINALLY PUT FOLDING REAR SEATS IN THE G80. It's unbelievable the last generation didn't have it. They want people to buy sedans, yet they are removing serious utility if the rear seats don't fold.

I wonder how the front is gonna look when the G80 electric comes next year. The Sport with over 400 horses, all/rear wheel steering, carbon fiber, brembos etc gotta be around 70k. Genesis getting expensive man.

The Germans are not concerned. Genesis/Hyundai have crappy lease deals whereas BMW for example you can easily get 12% off. It'll be a while before they are giving out those kinds of deals.

I'm just glad that some carmaker is bringing back some colors besides white, grey, black, red, and some blue. That metallic green color is gorgeous!

What's a little surprising is that they decided not to offer any alternative power trains. The car has got the goods - and has a good value proposition.
