Is funny to head off to eBay and take a look see at the true wealth of gas guzzlers for sale there at the moment which yes absolutely includes Toyota Tundras but so many others at the moment as well. Sadly not too many 2 stroke Detroit Diesels on the market for sale in any mom and pop trucks or SUVs at the moment so I guess for the rest of us we're still stuck with 25 Horsepower Tractors as the last of the this vehicle was wholly approved by some Government somewhere or else.
The Tesla Model S hasn't changed all that much over a long time now so maybe Toyota has drawn inspiration from that.
Sedan sales for 2022 have gone off a literal cliff sales wise is definitely worth remarking on though absolutely which makes absolutely zero sense if everyone is talking about fuel and food prices being too high. Jeep is just Dumb Luck to have the Xe the past two Years on the market by way of example. The whole World is still waiting on the Cybertruck full production I think therefore goes without saying which again probably explains the total lack of change in the 4 Runner as new systems create new problems. To be serious, the 2021 sales record shows buyers like the 4Runner just the way it is. It will be fascinating to see how Toyota improves its core appeal. The whole tailgate debate 4: 06 is confusing. Off road focused 4x4s like the Wrangler, Bronco and Defender all mount the spare on their door-style tailgate so it is easy to access in harsh and messy conditions. Surely the 4Runner should do the same. The biggest criticism I have about Toyota's 4x4 SUV portfolio is that they offer no direct competitor for the base Wrangler and Bronco in the 30K range. Entry level buyers should have an option like the simplest 2 door Prado.

If they gave this a 6 speed AT, an auto mode to the 4WD in the TRD models and the option of a third row on TRD I'd buy one. If the new one has a turbo I'll have even less desire, I'd buy a Toyota because it's boring as sin and ancient but reliable, that's their only selling point. If I have to get a turbo I'll be buying. Something more interesting.

14. 6mpg average in 2022 with our gas prices is a felony punishable to 7 years in prison. I can't but laugh at poor souls who bought this tin box in 2021 and in 2022 - they are going to enter world of pain: 14. 6mpg for the next 10-15 years this tin box will last. The more it'll last the more damage will be done to wallet at every single fill up lmao.

To say a Toyota vehicle is a dinosaur is weird because Toyota the company really embraces dinosaur juice. It seem unfathomable but Toyota will go the way of Nokia/Kodak/Blockbuster/etc. some day because they fight tooth and nail to move forward to vehicles with higher efficiency (MPG) and/or electrify their offerings.

They do make it like they used to. at least, until the 2024 model, when they move it's build from Japan to Mexico, take out the V-6, slam in some 4-bangers all around, and kill the power rear window. Basically, make it into anything but a 4Runner. This is the end of an era.

If Toyota updated the 4. 0 v6 to the 3. 5 FKS and the 5 speed to the 6 or 8 speed, updated the technology (infotainment, features, gauge cluster, offered a HUD and touched nothing else they could have a huge hit and sell even more

Here in Utah, basically every other car is a 4Runner. People in huge cities can't comprehend what it's like to have hundreds of miles of mountainous or desert terrain where these cars are legitimately needed and wanted.

This (5th) generation actually launched in the 2010 model year as far as I know. 2009 was the last model year for the 4th gen, and they hardly sold any that year because of the economy or something.

I don t see how anyone 6 1 or taller (my height) uses this as their daily. The front seating position is so awkward the the floor being so low. Superior dedication is the only thing I can think of.

99% of people who buy this do so only based on nostalgia and looks and make a HUGE MISTAKE by buying this, for them this is objectively MUCH WORSE than a Highlander.
