After quite a hiatus Dodge is re-entering the compact SUV/CUV segment with the new Hornet. Based on the Alfa Romeo Tonale (and built in Italy, the new Hornet offers more than just a sting mode. It'll have a standard 2. 0L turbo, standard all wheel drive, standard big LCDs in the dash an optional performance plug in hybrid system with 30 miles of range and class topping handling. That's quite the claim.

Let us discuss this, wouldn't you agree that a hybrid (including integrated solar panel roof) vehicle be the best for option for powering vehicles, while we work on large scale renewable energy and practical battery recycling methods.
The grid is not ready for full EV and PHEV vehicles are just a poor excuse for a ICE or Full EV.
Also The technology already exist for America Production plants to make fuel efficient hybrids and keep the production in the USA. The Nissan Ariya has the smartest idea yet. using the ICE to power the battery constantly will allow the ICE to operate optimally with very few emissions. As we get better at producing full EV cars these vehicle can ne modified to be full EV if required or be easier to recycle.

It should be priced under 30k. yeah right and then 20k markup for PHEV vehicle and 2 year order wait time. The problem nowadays is - whatever manufacturers come out with - simply doesn't matter because average Joe isn't going to afford it or find it on lots without overpaying huge markups and waiting for 18-24 months for it to be built. We live in a time when whole industry is ruined by that. It's so bad actually, that I would argue that it's not even worth making reviews anymore. All the new cars are simply existing on paper only and are not attainable by us mere plebs.

Dodge desperately needs a Journey replacement. They desperately need a vehicle in that compact or midsize CUV/SUV segment. They have a golden opportunity to really change that segment with the new 3 liter six and making it rear wheel drive bias. In addition, Stellantis needs to replace that ZF 9-speed with the 9-speed that Opel AG has. It is basically a GM designed and engineered unit, but fine tuned by Opel. I am still shocked that Stellantis hasn t done that.

This seems really lazy.
If the Tonale didn't exist I would say good job. But all I see is a lazy rebadge. The side just looks way to smooth for a dodge and of course the interior really cheaped out.
How do the two brands fit together?
Stellantis has far far to many brands and they all are overlapping each other and I don't think any besides a few will get a chance to shine outside their main markets.
This will definitely cheapen the Alfa imagine.

So they failed to turn Fiats into Dodges. Now they are trying to turn fancy Fiats into Dodges.
From Dart to Hornet, I m not sure I see how these cars are Dodge vehicles. Zero American DNA in there. This looks weird and forced, just like the last Toyota Yaris looked like a disfigured Mazda2.
The Alfa Tonale looks more authentic, but having an identical twin sold as a Dodge will probably cost it the few sales it could have had as a premium brand vehicle.

You know Alex this is a great video most of the video reviewers try to act like rockstars and stand in front of the vehicle and you see more of them than the vehicle I like the fact that we can see your face in this little box and only thing we see is the vehicle we can hear your voice talking about it you should tell the rest of your people that you work with and it's industry stop sending it in front of the vehicle show the car

I think this is the right vehicle at the right time for Dodge. This compact class are the top sellers right now, outside of pickup trucks. Glad that they understand that power and efficiency can coincide.
From what I've read from Europe, the Tonale has outstanding handling and ride characteristics. I really how Dodge nails out all of the teething pains prior to delivery.

Ok, interested. 40k+ for the PHEV, 30 miles of EV range, and about 300 HP? Definitely a RAV4 Prime competitor.
And for the battery too small whiners, this isn t for you. It s for Bubba, who was gonna drive 15k miles on Gas this year, but now he ll only use 5k on gas and 10k on EV and he ll be grinning from ear to ear while he does it.
Be like Bubba.

Hold on! That center screen look just like the audi a5 / a4 screen, even the 5 left side quick access icons and the lower picture shows the same 3 quick split screens of the MMI system that seems a copy of AUDI MMI not the UCONNECT i have a 2022 A5 prestige and trade it in from a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L limited I m so confused by this images.

Looks like a beefed up Dodge Dart to me.
I ve always loved Dodge, and consider them to be such good-looking and such fun cars to drive.
Unfortunately, since it will be manufactured where Alfa Romeos are, if it is going to be as unreliable as Alfa Romeos and Fiats, it will be a vehicle I would stay away from.

I think this vehicle looks veeeery good all-around.
I just can't understand why they don't add a choice of the Pentastart V6 which is simple, powerful and has a pretty good gas mileage. This leads me to think that they will end up installing a 150Hp wimpy engine after all.

1: 00 Wrong. The Tonale uses the same old platform as the Jeep Compass. Compass, Tonale and this all use the same platform. Outdated, uncompetitive. They should have never released new models based on this platform. Horrible decision. Stellantis is self destructiong rn.

Decent offering but hopefully this doesn't preview Dodge's future as a rebadge brand. Just restyled Italian models. Hopefully there's muscle cars coming that are all Dodge. Even if it's electric muscle. That's Dodge's image and is why there still alive (Chargers and Challengers.

This one is interesting in it's looks and origin, but I'm more interested to see if Chrysler will even survive the decade. I think Dodge will adjust and put out some sporty electric vehicles that suit their bases needs, but Chrysler is on full life support at this point.
