The Craziest Honda Ever Is The 2023 Honda Civic Type R First Drive Review

With a whopping 315 horsepower being sent to just the front wheels, the new 2023 Type R is the kind of bonkers only Honda could produce. Other companies try and complicate things with all wheel drive, dual clutch transmissions or mild hybrids, but the Civic is a pure FWD hot hatch complete with 6-speed manual. 0-60 times should hover around 5-seconds, if you're willing to roast the clutch, and with 265-width summer tires on all four corners, it sticks like glue. Assuming it's dry and you don't romp on the go-pedal in a corner

Ooh. The CTR is good in terms of styling and quality and space
But man that GR corolla Probably the most impressive Toyota in the past 3 years.
I will say I prefer the civic interior and it s space but I prefer the Toyota gauge cluster

Alex, It seems like the days of Honda's top hot hatch/lift back kicking sand in the face of Toyota are finally over. I hope some day you guys get a chance to drive the GR Yaris which is the undisputed king of hot hatches.

Golf R or Corolla GR over this all day long. The Civic Si is the sweet spot for the Civic in my opinion, and they should have made that a hatch.

You looked so stressed driving this on the track. Was the Type R more stressful to drive on track comparing to the GR Corolla?
