As Jaguar owner and enthusiast for over 60 years, I am resigned to the fact that Jaguar cars have entered the common lookalike market of the Muscle car mentality, offering speed and performance, and leaving the beautiful, classic, unique, curvaceous shapes behind. The interiors are no longer the classy luxurious interiors that once rivaled Rolls Royce and Bentley, with real timber and high quality leather. Most modern car interiors do not resemble what once was a distinguishable car interior without a badge or name. Sure, the speed of a Jaguar car was always impressive, but I always found so many other features in a great car like the XJ6, that were unique and extremely classy, that I could not find in other cars which were even more expensive. If you wanted a tough luxury car, you might consider a large Mercedes, but if you wanted something fine and beautiful, and with a classy traditional luxurious interior, then Jaguar fit the bill. Lest we forget. And we have.

Why the 1000hp
I suppose it's the only way to inject any kind of experience into something that will be completely devoid of character.
I can tell this by the amount of garbage this pair are focusing on.
Nobody cares about tyre choice and spring rates.
It's not a track car.
Is it a Jag
Will it drive like a car half it's weight and size
The driver will be isolated. this is a Jag, not a Lexus or Mercedes.
It should be a little bit raw compared to the competition, it should engage the driver more than the competition.
It's breaking my heart that this is what Jaguar is amounting to.
Mother of God jaguar!
Somehow you have managed to skip right to the other end of the spectrum.
Your new advertisement campaign had everyone talking ( for better or worse) but now I'm struggling to stay awake listening to these two.

The fact that Jaguar cannot even get an electrical connection to work for their network in an interview with inside EV is as their article quoted: All of it felt emblematic of the struggles the Jaguar has dealt with this past year.
The article revealed that the interviewer from inside EV had to attempt three times to connect and ultimately failed because Jaguar is a total sh! t show dumpster fire. If they cannot simply get their network to work how on earth are they going to produce a car that’s not going to break and fail like pretty much all of their ice motor vehicles. They can talk about design and engineering all they want, at the end of the day, they have read the market wrong and came out with a totally fruity looking car with fruity ad advertisement in a market that is moving away from EV’s in a market that is flooded with Ev’s

No doubt objectively this will be a good car, JLR has the engineering talent when it comes to vehicle dynamics. Reliability and production engineering isn’t as strong but people still buy Range Rovers despite of this. will it sell is the question I feel like the target market will still want 2ton plus SUVs monsters made by JLR rather than 2ton GTs. I would have thought if you are interested in coupes and GTs (sports cars) you want a V8 or more, and maybe a hybrid. You definitely want noise of some sort. This is what Porsche have found out to their cost, now looking to reengineer EV platforms to accept ICE! It’s got to the point that German car manufacturers have successfully lobbied the EU to roll back restrictions on ICE. I hope I’m wrong but, let’s see with Jag. Final point, I’d love to know what’s under than bonnet

It's funny how everyone (99% of which would never be in the market for a luxury vehicle) lost their minds over the Jaguar advert and logo change. I like the Rolls-Royce Spectre but think this looks better. Jaguar Land Rover got a lot of criticism for the design of the new Land Rover Defender because it looked so different, but it's a great vehicle and a sales success. They know what they're doing. Whether we like it or not EVs are here to stay. Even the legendary Gordon Murray is collaborating with McLaren and a Chinese EV company to create high-end EVs. And don't expect Clarkson and co to ever admit to liking EVs. He writes for two Murdoch newspapers and Murdoch owns a stake in the fossil fuel company Genie Energy, so Clarkson does as he's told - if he wants to keep his job and great media coverage.

So many Luddite's in the comments. There is actually less difference between the type 00 and the XJL than there is between the XJL and the SS. 1 and, like this the older had the more style. The newer, better specs. The fact remains is that Jaguar was struggling before this reinvention and it wasn't due to lack of good cars it was quite literally because no one was buying them for many reasons. So, your proposal is You really should have kept doing what wasn't working for you. That would have been better. What sense does that even make It is a bit akin to a hail mary and as drastic as those plays are, so is this. About the only thing I think they need to change is the strict EV only stance and I think they will be forced to at least go hybrid.

If you compare the above with the concept, it seems quite a different shape particularly towards the rear. The gentle slope of the back has gone as well as the pronounced arches over the rear wheels. The rear hunches seem to rise up slightly. So it's possibly going to be a very nice car on release and not so controversial looking. But if so, seems strange to turn off so many of your existing customers with an example of something that's quite removed from reality. Unless of course they have backtracked following the response. I've never been attracted to Jags though so looking through the lens of a neutral.

Jaguar is a joke. Let them become a ' boutique ' outlet.
How can anyone stand by a company that decided it didn't want the business of those that made it what it was
Also let's not forget jaguar isn't British and hasn't been for a long time. It's a company owned and run by Tata, an Indian company that has a history of destroying foreign businesses it buys out.
If you want to support British ingenuity and design excellence perhaps we should start by having a British car industry that can actually compete on the world stage with the likes of BMW, Ford etc
Jaguar is a dead brand walking

Don't you just love it when a british car journalism brand is paid to save a British dumpster fire of a car brand! The only thing we will accept is a brand new V8 a proper one this time not the BS corners cut stuff the british seem very famous for. a new F type. a new supercar ala CX75. a new suv ala F pace and a return to WEC for a proper endurance motorsports program that people actually will want to cheer on. THOSE are the ONLY WAY the brand will be saved.
Exciting products and a marketing exercise to grab the fans back. Otherwise forget it with that EV nonsense leave it to Tesla.

So I was one of those people who disliked the re-brand. A complete severing of all that race history, timeless sports cars and saloons - that whole pace, space grace thing. I also learnt that Jaguar were haemorrhaging money compared to its peers, so I accept that something had to change. But with many EV's, it always feels like the tech in the car is taking away from the engagement of the driver.
Time will tell, I hope it will succeed, I hope to be wrong, for the sake of the brand, but I don't love this new direction.

Jaguar are taking one hell of a risk, i wish them well but they can't be subsidised by Land Rover indefinitely and the lack of demand for premium luxury electric vehicles and their bad depreciation will not help. Only time will tell if this bold gamble pays off as it would be a tragedy if Jag collapsed, maybe this big reset, the executive changes and excessive delays for a new model will be a blessing in disguise and give this much loved brand's move upmarket and even more exclusivity just might work in the long run.

I think we've all understood that there is a vast gap between having a great product and having a product that sells and makes a profit. Jaguar was definately underperforming globally in the latter and needed to redefine itself to have any chance of a future - LR had the SUV space - so it had to go somewhere else. Still sceptical that this will work ( in terms of sales) but may work at smaller volumes to generate profit. Its then a case of what models they might create at lower price points, if any.

Now this is something to look forward to! I understand that this is one of three new Jaguars that are in development. This is a GT 4-door sedan, and coming up is reported to be an SUV model and a stately large sedan to run with Rolls-Royce. The GT (Type 00 production) is said to be pretty large, at around 212 in overall length. This gets me even more excited with anticipation coming up, for the SUV and stately sedan will likely be even larger! I hope that this news is accurate.

Of course it is a genuine risk that the lack of a combustion engine wil kill of a car like this, but the fact is tha despite recent political changes to the ICE-ban, the mass produced ICE-engis is virtually dead. There hasnt been a fully homologated, really good petrol or diesel engine in a decade. Anyone who actually works on new engines wich complies with new emission standards know that they are crap, both dynamic and quality wise.

EVs are the death of the enthusiast's automobile, simply because within a generation, every EV will be able do what this Jag claims it will do. Once you sort out a good battery, motor and suspension, the rest is all just software-defined, which the aftermarket will simply copy-and-paste onto the hardware platform of your choice. Good luck Jag. Let's hope your car doesn't turn into the brick it looks like.

Another hefty 2. 5 ton EV that any manufacturer can churn out that simply have no eco virtues and use rare earth metals that are now a clear source of conflict and ecological damage in the World.
Just when want see lightweight, well desiged hydrogen or biofuel cars with good dynamics and range.
Next up: how to re-cycle these appliances which have no resale value and have insufficient range

All Jaguar had to do was keep focus on interior and exterior design just like Land Rover did. Keep the F Type, 1 XF tweener sedan and F Pace are all they needed in their lineup. With the market moving towards SUVs Land Rover was always going to drive the bulk of their sales, sooo keeping Jaguar small and somewhat exclusive in terms of design wouldve been their main Point of Sale. Just my 2 cents

This rolling refrigerator is going to be another Cyber truck disaster. After the five misguided fools who want one for some bizarre reason, they will be unable to give them away. All Jaguar needed to do was improve reliability. Junk this EV piece of junk and build the Bertone B99 Jaguar concept with the SCv8 and the CX-75, plus a mid-size SUV. Just make it RELIABLE. (Like Lexus)

I have a feeling it will be a good car. I never disliked the concept, only the campaign which was utterly ridiculous, and the distancing from Jaguars past. That should never have been signed off. Their biggest issue is changing ev regulations - looks like ICE are here to stay so who would want an ev GT if you can buy say a Panamera or a Bentley with a V8 hybrid. Time will tell

Jaguars most iconic e-Type or in my opinion XK-120 in the past. And sadly some very uninspiring models in the last decades. But the answer is A heterophobile 2500kg tablet on wheels. Well, Let’s see where it goes. The body roll the one guy brags about being so great doesn’t look so great on other videos where one actually sees the cars behaviour in corners.
