Enough with the 'leaf springs are crude' BS. Those transverse composite springs are very light, package well, and reduce un-sprung weight. The rest of the suspension is all-aluminum, with double wishbones at the front and multi-link at the rear. There is nothing crude about it. The leaf spring's only downside is limited ride-height adjustability, which is no downside at all for the vast majority of owners. For the rest, there are solutions available.

Something is up with the Z06. it-s cold, damp and it-s taking everything at launch? I have an 2007 Z and below 70 degrees you can forget about it hooking. So I don-t know whats wrong but something is. would it beat the 911 from a dig? I don-t know. The 911 will have much better traction. And Chevy under rated the power of the LS7. Mind made 450 at the tire bone stock. 480 with tune & cold-air kit. So the point is traction is an issue even stock.

The issues with the Corvette shifting is due to him not being use to shifting with the opposite hand. Shifter input and clutch pedal timing are off. As is his dexterity finding third with that hand. The synchros have no issues with ripping second fast and hard but if shifter input is not matched with your clutch pedal movement. synchros grind. Once he is use to it he would find the numbers and no grinding.

I just bought a c6z and it absolutely can not take all of it in first gear without traction control. I can't even roll on to in it in first without breaking the tires loose, let alone stab it in first let alone dump the clutch at high rpm. Something is wrong with that car. 2nd gear crunch is real tho -

It goes 0-60 mph in first gear. MotorTrend in 2005 magazine comparisons got it I. 3. 5 0-60 mph for the Z06 and most other mags get it at 3. 7 secs 0-60
(Yes I know it's a 2006 car. Yes I know mph and kph are diff, just advising what I read in 2005)

-It-s taking all the Revs off the line- in a Z06? Chris must have a better launch technique than I do cause I can-t turn it up slip or drop the clutch without blowing the tires off. and did he say 10 seconds to 100? That-s about 2 seconds to long.

He-s driving like trash in the vette! Even myself that-s not a pro driver knows I could kill this guy driving everytime driving the same car. Launches are awful and his shifts are pathetic.

they should have raced the zr1 instead of the low powered z06 the porsche is turbo charged the corvette is normally aspirated, his -granny shifting - ain't helping in the corvette.

Porsche has probably 30 to 40 more hp. Has peak torque at 2200 rpm. I know the turbos do better at altitude, if that's a factor. The weight is virtually identical.
