Economy test: Peugeot RCZ vs Porsche 911

How will economy figures differ between the two? jarrus464: -skully720
What's that supposed to mean? Pug have been making some of the best diesels around.
Ford, Volvo, Landrover, Jaguar to name a few use them. so they must be good.
Plus something that people fail to realise is that diesels will only do the same MPG as there petrol counterparts when driven in anger because of how they burn there fuel, but day to day driving at normal road speeds then the diesel will use considerably less fuel.

yea but in top gear test m3 is more economy than prius hahah i think in this test 911 driver do not change gear thats low rpm as its posssible i hope i was wrong but i dont now. in 911 turbo you need change gear in around 2000-2500 rpm to hold on rcz on full power 180 vs 500 km the porshe is not much heavier i dont loook at dyno graph but i sopous 2000-2500 rpm in porshe is enough

Anybody that complains over something so trivial as a video (which isn't even offensive in any way) clearly hates their own life.
What other reason could there be for them to spew out their nonsense?
A few are probably trolls, others indistinguishable from a troll and yet others real, genuine cretins. Many probably don't even own a car or are old enough to drive.

What Autocar fails to realize is that the RCZ is revving very much harder than the Porsche. Forget the Porsche following, Just put them on the same track and let them both run flat out then we will see.
If it was on looks alone the RCZ would walk it. The 911 looks old and dated now. They should do a 20, 000 mile service on each Car and see what the bill is!

Me arguing my M3's (420hp) average 17mpg fuel economy over the 2. 0T A4 (211hp) we were also looking at (26mpg) when I bought it.
-Sweety, it's TWICE the power, and it uses LESS than twice as much gas. So it's MORE fuel efficient. -
She gave me that -not impressed- look and I signed the papers: D

who dares to downvote this brilliant test, whoever has touched that button does not know what a TRUE race car is, they are biased and are paid by the AUTO Industry to downvote tests held by Peugeot and Porsche! JOIN ME and lets bring the downvoters to their knees!

The problem with this test that the trailing car has slight advantage when it is behind because there's much less air drag. Not a fair test in my opinion. Have the car ride at the same pace and with the same air resistance.

The bit I didn't understand is your driving the RCZ flat out & your driving the 911 very slow of course the 911 would have high mpg. Drive it flat out then compare that would funny errr I mean interesting

Diesel fuel is more energetic than gasoline, so this comparison is not quite correct, the diesel mileage should be corrected by about 10%, I believe, which makes both cars about equal.

you should have had RCZ vs Celica VVTLi. Almost same maximum BHP, 0-60, etc. Then compare a car thats 10 years older with a much newer car, same specs, but whats the difference?
