That interior IS upmarket. Might not look like that on video, but when you see it in person, its really high quality, it feels better than current Passat. Rear suspension set up is good enough in entry level models. Why would you need a multilink in a 105hp diesel family car? Theres ABSOLUTELY NO benefit to it whatsoever in a car like this. Crappy base engines? I'm betting you never drove a 1. 2 tsi with 105hp or the 1. 6 tdi with 105 hp.

Interesting to hear what critics are saying back home. This is positive, and What Car gave it a rave review. Here in the Cz R, the press has been much more critical, perhaps unfairly so. For me it has to be the beautiful estate with the 1. 8TSI engine, unavailable in the UK. With multilink r s and a fantastic engine it rides and drives brilliantly.

Ok better than Rapid but still i would not buy this car. And this review? you gotta be kidding calling that interior upmarket. The rear suspension set up being a torsion beam is at least two generations behind. And the crappy base engines? a joke really. It might be big car for the money but that all i am afraid.

Right I gave this review a thumbs down not because of the car, but because I am sick of motoring journalists keep comparing it to a golf. Aaghh it's not a golf.
It's built on the golf chassis, but it is bigger and not marketed as a golf rival.
Also how stylish do you want the car to be, it looks good.

Mondeo? Its the shittiest and most plasticky feeling heap of junk in the class. I dont know what people see in that car. There's not a surface in that interior that doesn't feel cheap or doesn't squeak / feel like its going to fall off when you tug on it a bit.

Octavia. Jetta is a poor mans VW. Its not even a VW in my opinion. Doesn't deserve the badge, same as the american version of Passat. Big car, low quality. Feels cheaper than VW Polo.

Actually, I think the sleek and simple design is really nice. Sometimes when one of them drives by in black or silver, I have to look twice to see that it's not a bmw.

Remember that there are 2 types of -MPG- which are not the same the UK 83 mpg is 69 US mpg. Thats why people laugh when americans buy Prius as -economic car-: )

I just couldn't bring myself to drive a run of the mill Vauxhall. Horrible, hateful things. Just a means of transport - nothing more.
