New Ford GT review - is Le Mans racer too brutal for the road?

The brand new Ford GT supercar is sensational to drive on a circuit, boasting as much drama and speed as you-ll ever encounter from a car that-s licensed for use on the road. Designed in secret from a pure-bred Le Mans racer, it-s composed, brutal and exciting - but it-s not as refined as it could (or should) be on the road. Despite such reservations, though, you can-t help but fall in love with the latest GT. Its looks and engine are more than enough to win you over - even if ultimately it-s little more than a road-legal Le Mans car at heart

For all those who complain about the rough ride or lack luster interior are completely missing the point of this car. The people down at Ford did not care what anybody thought about it's looks or how it felt when driving it. They made this car for one purpose and one purpose only and that was to win Lemons. Making it available to the public was for pure homologation purposes only. Having a beautiful interior is not a requirement for winning Lemons. For all the pretty boys who want to still look pretty while driving need to get themselves a Pagani or some other prissy boutique exotic. For those who want serious high performance race car for the road then this is your car. Very little was changed in making it a road car from a race car or I should say. a race car from a road car. Just think, they had to actually detune the engine to make it eligible for Lemons

The Ford GT is total trash! $500k for a FORD! Are you kidding me? Have people lost their minds? And everyone bashes the new Acura NSX as being a $150-200k Honda/Acura too expensive? Are you kidding me? At least Honda/Acura is a quality and luxury product and the new NSX is the most technologically advanced vehicle on the planet for less than $200k! That is the best value on the planet! And yet the Ford GT is accepted as a great vehicle and makes ZERO records and only has an ECOBOOST V6 that you can get in a cheap piece of trash Focus! What a total embarrassment and mindless fools for buying into this joke! Is everyone brainwashed? Zero logic!

I drove several of the last generation of the Ford GT's and what a magnificent car. I can't wait to get my chance to drive this new model. For those that don't like it. To each there own but there is no way in denying that this car is amazing in every way. Later they take the car to the Arctic Circle. drove up there and back and broke the lap record on the stock tires. The driver changed his mind about just how capable the GT is. Amazing

To all those who want compare it to a McLaren 675 or 720, just remember it's all theoretical, because you can't buy a Ford GT since you definitely were not in the allotment. So just buy a McLaren and talk about a car you will never be able to own. Personally, I didn't like the Ford GT at first but the more I learned about it, the more I love it.

I wish ford would have built for all that applied. Guess the American mid engine for all will be the GM. :(
How about a Pantera v8 for us Ford. Just build it out of aluminum and make 5000 so we all get one.

Nice supercar something innovative but way over priced and too exclusive like come on! Plus a McLaren 720S will slaughter this as it doesn't have that much power. Whats going on Ford why not 700+hp?

why do brits use -tasty- and -delicious - to describe their driving experiences? kinda bothers me. reminds of some fat little hobbits obsessed with 2nd breakfast.

Can we go Sport mode then Track mode at a track?
As soon as I heard that I knew this guy should be reviewing a Dodge Caravan not a Super car.
