Look the Raptor isn't to large for UK roads. The problem with the Raptor is it wasn't designed to go fast down a tight UK B road. People are comparing it to buses and Vans. Buses and Vans are slow. The Raptor has a powerful supercharged V8. UK B roads are 60mph limit. They're tight, winding, damp, rutted, off camber with blind corners. A three tonne truck, with a front biased weight balance, a high centre of gravity, a long stopping distance, massive off road tyres and 600bhp is a very bad combination on the type of road mentioned. A British motorway in summer maybe but still pointless. A hot hatch would destroy it on a B road. A BMW 335d would destroy it on the motorway and a Defender would destroy it off road. So what's the point? Jack of all trades, master of none.

Don't know why some people think trucks like this are -too big- for the UK. Everything from double decker buses to range rovers to long wheel base vans to 40 tonne trucks get around UK roads just fine. The problems are the casual approach to people parking on the side of the roads in towns and the government/councils not putting the money in to widen some roads for the 21st century. If parking enforcement was better, parking on sidewalks/kerbs was banned nationally and councils pulled their finger out to put money into widening roads even by a few feet each side then it would make it allot easier!

It-s not to big for the UK, there are much bigger vehicles on the roads in the UK, it-s no wider than a transit tipper, in Cornwall where I live I seen a few Dodge Rams and F250s driving around they seem to get around fine, if there weren-t any cars parked on the road in that village you could get through no problem and there was no reason for him to have mounted the curb he had loads of space on his right hand side, farmers probably drive through that village with tractors pretty often.

It weighs less than a Range Rover, probably shorter as well. The issue is the width, which is because of the wider wheels and suspension designed for desert running at speed, not cruising the side streets of London. Also, the 10 mpg he is quoting is based on the US gallon on the trip computer, which is 3. 8L. The UK gallon in 4. 54L.

I have the crew cab version here in Canada and it is awesome believe it or not its faster than most sports cars in OEM form. Curb weight 5, 000 lbs with a 0-60 MPH in 5 seconds you have to drive it to believe it. That said the Audi RS3 has a 0-60 4. 1 Seconds but the curb weight is only 3, 586 Ibs so the driver wasn't trying hard.

Love the whole outlook but you couldn-t fuel that vehicle in the North Of Ireland, it-s so damm expensive for petrol/gas. If it had the 3. 2 v6 diesel you get in the Ford Ranger Wildtrak then it-s not so bad but unless you-re loaded with money it-s not for you.

i hate how he keeps saying -with a ford gt engine in it- its not, the normal f150 the raptor and the gt as well as some other ford cars share the same block but are not the exact same engine they are just tuned differently

It-s as absurd as a -63. 5 Galaxy 500XL w/427 7. 0L side oiler V8 and top loader 4sp trans. Which is to say, it-s remarkable that something this big can move that well.

Ford is the only American-American mainstream brand, I-d expect nothing less than for this to be a total American beast, if I had the money I-d get one like a shot! -
