New 2020 BMW M8 Competition review - is BMW\'s fastest EVER car actually any good? Jeremy: I am a huge fan of Steve Sutcliffe. He has the ability to relay what he is feeling in the driver's seat, to the viewer in the Lazy Boy seat. Excellent review it has to be said, but the car? Well, I am not a huge fan of BMW, but then again, I have not had the opportunity to drive one in anger. That said, it seems to me, the electronic masters take away from the joy and involvement of driving. I am a purist at heart.

He complains about an M car not oversteering but he never removed the 4 wheel drive. Yes he said that they didn't allow him to, but then why does he complain about it, anyway. It is obvious that when you put the rear wheel drive the car acts like a tradisitonal m car but you also no whave the profits of 4 wheel drive. This alone is a win win condition.

-Sophisticated car-; sophisticated maintenance bills to boot! -. I guess if you can afford the car, you can afford the bills. Too many bells & whistles for me. I miss the days of having a -Bilstein Suspension-, getting in the car; throw it in drive & GO! The older Bummers & Porsches: PRICELESS!

He-s right about more M in the M8. Used to work at Bmw and drive a lot of them. All that to say M cars have that certain quality, whether it be strength, power, w. e you want to call it but the M cars should be completely distinguishable in experience from the regular BMWs, almost intimidating.

I mean yeah, but if you don't want a two tonne car, buy one which doesn't weigh two tonnes. I've never understood why motor journalists always seem surprised when a beefed up luxury saloon feels heavy. It's a beefed up luxury saloon, not a Lotus.

I'm getting a sense that recent M cars have been a little bit of a compromise perhaps with an exception of the M2 and the M5 Competition. Gone is the day where M car is the definite answer to driving thrill and outright performance.

these sport versions of the normal street cars become with each generation less exciting, less noise, and instead adding more comfort, more regulations, more build in safety modes etc. just not great drivers cars anymore.

As a BMW fan and multiple owner I find this car underwhelming. If it was a refined 6 series maybe it was going to be that impactful. Its just too simple for a come back.

The M8 kinda has a boring sounding engine imo. Other than that, I don-t see anything wrong with it. It-s a super sports sedan, it-s not gonna perform like a super car.

This car is fantastic but the interior is nothing special. BMW has been bested by Audi and Merc in recent years time to step it up
