NEW BMW i4 M50 review: how much fun is an electric M car? - Auto Express davesax11: Good review. Nice to see the glee in the driver's eyes as the car accelerates. Looks like they could have dialed in some more road feel for the steering. Is it correct economy highway mode uses just the rear motor for longer range? Zimmer sounds get tiresome. How about mimicking a real engine? Can get 18- wheels on the M50 for better snow/wet traction and longer range. I'm certainly in the minority but I like the big grill. Up to now we've owned a long series of manual cars. Of course there are trade-offs, but I'd choose driving with the accelerator pedal using mostly regen over an automatic transmission any day.

People still mention steering feedback, its unimportant if you can feel the cars directional intentions under your seat. The m50 is both brilliantly clever but remains a dumb tool in a positive way as an M car. It feels venomous and childish but also the BMW engineering keeps you in check on the road, the most remarkable thing about this BMW is when you switch to slow and sensible through a village the car still feels utterly in its place and you as the driver are sat waiting to leave the area to continue being silly playing with your new style m car that vomits character as soon as your left alone with it.

The mature car building grown ups with a great history of building good cars are here. Now we'll see EV's done properly. and lots of competition which should be good for the buyer over time. Take your pick. The Tesla brand, cult and still the king of the tech (or it is? we'll have to see) vs some of the better all-round alternatives now available. The competition will no doubt push Tesla along too to improve further in areas they're not so good in.

The crash pads for the high-voltage battery may not have been assembled. This can cause damage to the high-voltage battery in the event of a serious side crash and may cause a short-circuit increasing the risk of a fire.
The BMW i4 vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 15 September and 30 November 2021.
BMW recall code: 61430600
Affected models: i4.

-Thanks to the batteries and motors it weighs 2. 3 tonnes-. Tesla Model 3 Performance. 1844kg. Look, this no doubt a better quality car, but its obvious its not a real EV platform and doesn't have the Tesla Supercharger network. If I really wanted a BMW drivers car, Id just get an M340i or M3 for the time being. If I wanted electric, i'd stick with the Tesla.

I-ve always said the day the decide to put EV motors in NORMAL looking cars and not exaggerated, space looking, hover car wannabe looking crap, then they will sell like crazy and more of the younger community would gravitate towards them. Finally BMW makes this! Huge step in my eyes I would gladly buy this! (I own a 2022 M440i, and 2018 M2 N55)

So its just a very competent and fast electric car. Like a tesla, like Eq something merc, E-tron, Taycan etc. There is nothing BMW M car about its character, absolutely nothing.

I will need to see this in person. It looks tall and narrow in this video. I hope BMW can move to a dedicated EV platform soon as this weight is out of control

Looks like a Toyota Mirai which is the future, not as good as a Toyota Mirai, because EV isn't the future. Don't believe the hype Sheeple.
